ILL BILL Announces Tour Dates La Coka Nostra Member ILL BILL Will Debut New Material From Forthcoming Album on 40-Date National Tour with Sean Price and Others
Independent hip hop kingpin ILL BILL will embark on a 40-date national tour to celebrate the release of his sophomore solo album, The Hour of Reprisal, which will be released on September 19th, 2008 on Uncle Howie Records and Fat Beats Records.
ILL BILL will tour with Sean Price, along with other local acts. Additional select dates in Canada will be announced shortly. Says Bill, “This is my first headlining tour as a solo artist, so along with dropping the new album, this is a really exciting time for me. I’m amped about getting to hang with my army of supporters for the next couple of months and letting them hear the new record. This album was made for the stage so I can’t wait to finally unleash this new music live.”
The former Non Phixion standout and one of the organizers behind La Coka Nostra is aggressively pushing the envelope. For the release of The Hour of Reprisal, ILL BILL teamed up with not only iconic artists Raekwon the Chef, B-Real, DJ Premier but he also recruited a roster of artists untraditionally associated with hip hop releases, including Bad Brains and heavy metal kingpins, Killswitch Engage. This album marks the first time for Bill to handle most of the production. Longtime Wu-Tang Clan mix engineer Carlos Bess lent his expertise to create this milestone album. Staying true to his signature style, Bill shares his worldview on a myriad of real-life topics such as the war in Iraq, the unsettling and disturbing subject of racism, the senseless shootings at Virginia Tech University, the state execution of Stanley “Tookie” Williams and countless others.
