CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS WITH COKO AS A COKO CHRISTMAS HITS STORES OCTOBER 14 SPECIAL GUESTS INCLUDE GEORGE HUFF, DAVID CATON, LADY TIBBA, AND HER YOUNGEST SON, SIR JALEN

Nashville, TN–Coko Clemons, lead singer to 90’s R&B sensation SWV, celebrates Christmas with her latest release, A COKO CHRISTMAS (Music Doll Entertainment/Light Records). The follow-up album to her Grammy nominated gospel debut, Grateful, released in 2006, is yet another milestone for the sultry soprano voice. Serving as a segway for her soon-to-come second studio album, this project is set to hit stores October 14, 2008 and is the remix of traditional Christmas carols along with original tunes that will soon become recognizable as a part of the holiday tradition.

The nine-song collection is a bird’s eye view of Christmas time with Coko. For those who have followed Coko through her career they will rediscover SWV-inked Christmas tunes “Oh Holy Night,” “This Christmas,” and “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) from their 1997 release of A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS. Listeners will find that their groovy rendition of the timeless favorites will prove to be a delightful addition.

Coko also reached back to her first gospel album to share holiday inspired tracks “Holy” and “Grateful”. The title track offers an R&B influenced beat with a spiritual overlay while “Holy” highlights her silky voice laced over such a powerful and majestic tune. Both share in universal appeal and translate gracefully during the Christmas and holiday season.

Some new tinsel is sprinkled onto the project, presenting original and remixed Christmas songs produced by David Caton. Starting the album off is the jazzy standard and single “We Thank You” which features Deon Kipping; American Idol finalist, George Huff, joins for an appearance on “Give Love On Christmas Day”; “The Greatest” is the up-tempo, techno-pop dance tune; however, the most memorable track on the album would undoubtedly be “Silent Night” where Coko is joined by her mother and gospel singer, Lady Tibba and youngest son, Sir Jalen. Just as the song ends Coko asks “Jalen can you sing this for mommy” and as the five year old sings “Silent Night, Holy Night” the awe inspiring moment showcases three generations of musical talent.
