Soil & Pimp Sessions are fervently rising from the club scenes of Tokyo, London, and Paris with their first US release, the album Planet Pimp

Soil & “Pimp” Sessions are a raucous live band with a punk energy, jazz instrumentals and a smattering of gold chains. Although they have created the Death Jazz genre, they are considered a pop group in their native Japan, where they play for thousands and receive maximum air play for their videos. Their attitude is ferocious and full of humor; the music charges ahead with abandon: rhythmic, danceable, driven by powerhouse grooves, kinetic piano, and bold horns.

They were then brought to the UK and Europe with much love by Gilles Peterson. Giant Step presented their sole US gig in 2007 and it is still one of the most talked about Giant Step events in the past decade.
