Asia’s #1 Ranked DJ (#35 Worldwide) Ricky Stone, announces upcoming tour plans -coinciding with recent #1 single “In Miami” (Flat Belly Recordings)

Being the #1 DJ in Asia for the past 4 years is no small feat. Couple that with an impressive ranking of # 35 worldwide (by DJ Magazine 2008) and being dubbed a “One to Watch” by Beatport, and one soon realizes that Ricky Stone has the skill and dedication to do just about anything he sets his mind to.

Ricky Stone also has a global perspective on music. Having left England in the nineties to play a few ones off’s in Asia, Ricky soon realized the impact a western DJ could have on the region. Not one to miss an opportunity, a move to Hong Kong followed and Ricky quickly began his rise to his now superstar DJ status. Serious production work and cross collaborations began almost immediately. With his in demand schedule and constant touring, Ricky still managed to start building his production reputation with several high profile signings (‘Atmospheres’ to Whoop! and Distinctive Records) and remixes (Hybrid, Blue Amazon and Sueño Latino), those remixes having been done with production partner Derek Kaye- as Kayestone. Their remix of David Forbes’ smash ‘Questions (Must Be Asked)’ generated serious exposure and was snapped up for the compilations; “Discotech Generation” -Gatecrasher and Paul van Dyk’s “The Politics of Dancing”, as well as receiving Radio 1 support from Pete Tong.

On a global gig scale, Ricky Stone is definitely accruing his frequent flyer miles. From Europe’s top clubs and festivals (Gatecrasher, Sankey’s, Ministry of Sound, Love Parade) and extensive bookings in South American, North America, Romania and Australia, it’s hard for some to fathom how he manages. Well, he loves what he does, pure and simple. Music has just always been in his blood and his focus has never wavered. With this unrelenting passion and his keen ear for music, it was no surprise that Ricky would turn his attention to the business of labels.

Currently Ricky heads up two successful dance music imprints, 852 Recordings and Flat Belly Recordings. Both labels are pushing the boundaries of dance music and the genres within. 852 saw the release of several slammers including; ‘Acid Tool (My Mom Told Me)’ by Mikael Jonasson (feat Ricky on vox!), ‘Pure (Thanks for the Ad)’ with Louswimmin and ‘Amen’ with Tom Sawyer. Flat Belly Recordings (started in 2008) now has TWO #1 releases under it’s belt, namely; the #1 most-downloaded track at DJmag- Mr. Kim Fai’s Olympic remake of ‘Shanghai Taxi’, and the recent #1 (for 3 weeks) on Djdowload.net, “In Miami” by Ricky Stone.

“In Miami” is a monster of a tune and just ripe for the upcoming WMC.

In preparation for WMC the aptly titled “In Miami” single is now being offered up in a remix competition. Aspiring producers can try their hand at production with the winner having their track released on FBR. The competition is being held though download portal Djdownload.net
