THE GS BOYZ RECEIVE BET AWARD NOMINATION Nominated for Best Group with success of single “Stanky Legg”

New York, NY- The GS Boyz ignited the scene from their very first bar, and they’ve left a trail of scorched earth in their wake. On the strength of the unstoppable single “Stanky Legg,” which has crisscrossed the country and the globe, the GS Boyz from Texas are primed for their first-ever BET Award—Best Group.

Young Joc says of the nomination; “The GS BOYZ have truly been a blessing and a blast to work with. Their hard work and determination has garnered them a worldwide fan base and a nomination from BET.”

The nomination should come as little surprise, as “Stanky Legg” topped BET’s 106 & Park video countdown way back in February and has hovered near the top spot ever since. The song generated millions of hits on YouTube and surpassed a million digital sales. But as a testament to the song’s popularity with both consumers and DJs alike, “Stanky Legg” became the nation’s top-selling physical single as well.

The GS Boyz, signed to Swagg Team/Jive/Battery Records, show no signs of slowing down. Just last week, they debuted their follow-up single, “Booty Dew.” Forty of the nation’s radio stations added it, a tremendous number right off the bat. Additionally, the GS Boyz walked the video right onto the couch on 106 & Park; the song was played immediately. Expect the groundswell only to grow, following the well-worn path of “Stanky Legg.” Both of these monster hits have laid the groundwork for their forthcoming album, due at the end of fall 2009.

Confers Battery Records Senior Vice President/General Manager Neil Levine: “Battery and Jive Records would like to congratulate Swagg Team and the GS Boyz on the nomination for Best Group at the BET Awards. We continue to be delighted by our GS Boyz business and look forward to continued success.”

Battery Records is an imprint under Sony Music Entertainment’s RCA/ JIVE Label Group umbrella formed in July of 2008 to develop young urban talent, in an age where such development is sorely lacking. Neil Levine, Battery Records’ Senior Vice President and General Manager, aims to uncover and cultivate young talent and thereby create an indispensable niche in the marketplace.
