New York, NY – Known through out the music industry by artists and executives alike as the premier recording studio in New York City, Smash Studios lived up to it’s legendary status by hosting a listening session for rising hip-hop star Really Doe’s debut album, “First Impressions.” The album is releasing on October 1, 2009 exclusively to retail chain Best Buy. The early release on August 08, 2009 was exclusive to Itunes.

The Chicago native and Cartel Records/G.O.O.D. Music played host to industry peers, media representatives, and hip-hop supporters. Online outlets at the listening session included hip-hop Lunch, Roc4life.com, Blazingstreetz.com and Street 101. There were also notable media outlets such as Giant magazine, Rides, The Source, Urban Latino and Complex magazine in attendance as well.

Guests of the listening session vibed to the song “Plastic” featuring Kanye West who has worked alongside Really Doe on many occasions. Smash Studios rocked to other hit singles from the album including “Mesmerized,” “Psychotic,”“They Say” and “Million Dolla.”

The event was not just a wildly entertaining listening session for the highly anticipated album “First Impressions”, but it also served as a true celebration for the resurgence of real hip-hop. Really Doe, represents a movement in hip-hop that demands artistic versatility, lyricism and authenticity from its new stars. After the listening session, it became even more apparent that Really Doe has met the demands of this generation.
