Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced the release of Grammy-nominated and Wondaland Arts Society/Atlantic Records recording artist Janelle Monae’s song, “Come Alive (The War of the Roses)”, created exclusively for the Kia Soul Collective: a hand-selected group comprised of some of today’s hottest artists, thought leaders and influencers. The song, created to document the sound of “how she rolls,” is currently available for a free download at http://www.kiasoulcollective.com/home/music, along with behind-the-scenes footage of her studio session. “Come Alive (The War of the Roses)” is also the first taste of new music from Monae’s epic new album, set for an early 2010 release.
Last week, a documentary surrounding the life of Threadless Co-Owner and Advisor Jeffrey Kalmikoff was released for the program, and additional content will be unveiled from other members of The Collective every Monday including designer Jeff Staple, and filmmakers Jonas & Francois, among others
This nationwide program is geared toward creating awareness around the all-new 2010 Kia Soul: one of the brand’s most popular, stylish and intriguing vehicles. Each member of the collective was tasked with demonstrating “how they roll” through creating original films, art, music and more.
In addition, The Kia Soul Collective is also in the midst of its national tour incorporating live music, video screenings and games. Performances in the 10-city tour will include MGMT, Silversun Pickups, Against Me!, N.E.R.D., Clipse and more.
