Breez Deez Treez Update Fall 2009

New Release from Breez Evahflowin receiving wide critical acclaim

“It’s not every day that a rapper can wear his heartbreak on his lapel, completely absent of 808s” – Kathy Landoli, Hiphopdx.com

Writing about Breez Deez Treez, the new CD from New York MC Breez Evahflowin, Kathy Landoli at Hiphopdx.com says “this time the intensity is turned up several notches and the result is a brilliant audio memoir.”

Since its official release in August, the new album is continuing to receive wide critical acclaim. The personal nature of the CD, and the thoughtful lyrics have gained the attention of music critics, with several agreeing that Breez Deez Treezreveals a new side of Breez we have not seen put to music before.

“Several songs seem like Breez has undergone a ton of personal reflection and hardship, and for him to be personal like this is a daunting task…” notes Egyptoknuckles of Potholesinmyblog.com, continuing “…His shedding of a lot of his trials and tribulations proves to be very effective. Maybe we’re seeing the shedding of a different Breez Evahflowin here.”

Landoli observes, “Breez Evahflowin undoubtedly moved through many mindstates as he penned Breez Deez Treez. Having the gumption to put it out there is what makes this album remarkable.”

In his new UGSMAG.com interview about the making of the album, Breez reveals “It’s a memoir of sorts… questioning what I’m really in it for, what does the music mean to me?” The new approach seems to have resonated on many levels, with Susan ‘susiQ’ Kim of Rapreviews.com writing,

“Breez Deez Treez” explores a new side to Breez Evahflowin that reveals his contemplative thoughts and feelings while exposing the truth behind his rhymes…. It is both familiar and comforting when one can relate to an artist as Breez transports his audience to this level.” – Susan ‘susiQ’ Kim, Rapreviews.com

The CD chronicles the transformation of Breez from a Battle MC to a Storyteller, revealing his personal struggles through his songs. From his beginnings as a champion battle rapper on MTV, to his subsequent exodus from – and return to – New York City, the songs Breez reveals on Breez Deez Treez lay it all out with unrestrained honesty. Hip-Hop Connection calls Breez Deez Treez “Thoughtful hip-hop done the right way.”
