MAJOR LAZER DECLARES VICTORY OVER 2009 – A SUCCESSFUL YEAR FOR DIPLO AND SWITCH’S DANCEHALL CREATION

“PON DE FLOOR” MAKES ITUNES BEST ELECTRONIC SINGLE FOR 2009

With the help of Grammy nominated producers Diplo and Switch, the zombie slaying, lazer-armed Jamacian commando Major Lazer has created one of the most successful albums of 2009! The album single, “Pon De Floor,” was iTunes’ Best Electronic Single for 2009 and the album “Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do” was featured on iTunes Indie Spotlight for best of 2009.

Diplo and Switch’s talent for creating futuristic dancehall anthems has given Major Lazer international fame and club goers a reason to get extra sweaty on the dance floor. With appearances by Vybz Cartel, Mr. Lex, Prince Zimboo, Einstein, Ms. Thing, Busy Signal, Nina Sky, Ricky Blaze, Amanda Blank, Santigold and many more, there’s no question of which album should be blaring through your speakers when the ball drops for the new year.

Along with the 13-track album of digital reggae and Jamacian dancehall bangers, the website remix.majorlazer.com allowed producers and fans to upload their own remixes of Major Lazer’s infectious tunes. Four music videos have been created total for the songs Zumbie, Pon De Floor, Hold the Line, and the newest hit video for Keep it Goin’ Louder, which features the freakish female machinations of Eric Warheim of Tim and Eric fame. It’s hard to predict what a renegade commando with a lazer for an arm will do in 2010, but if Diplo and Switch are involved, we can guarantee it’s going to be good…stay tuned for more new music to come!
