Hip-Hop artist Beans has landed the lead role in the upcoming film “Undergrad.” The film is directed by Brendan Kyle Cochrane, who directed the hit movie “Before I Self Destruct” starring Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
“UNDERGRAD” Film Synopsis:
Filmed in Pittsburgh, Pa. “Undergrad” tells the story of “Benny”, (played by Beans) a genius ex con and former head of a small time drug organization returning home after a traumatic prison bid. Immediately upon his return, Benny finds himself pulled in opposite directions by his old life, the life he’s trying to build & and the three different women in his life. There’s the beautiful and sophisticated ex-girlfriend Dionne (PLAYED by DEBRA GLENN), his former sexy & scandalous femme fatale “PRINCESS” (PLAYED BY TIFFANI B); and the love of his life, his 14-year old little sister, Lana. Pulled in opposite directions by three very different women, he attempts to rehabilitate himself through college, instead of going back to the
streets. Before long his two worlds have collapsed in on themselves.
Benny excels first in the classroom and then in the streets all the while vying for the love of Dionne, his overachieving ex.
Benny does the best he can to provide and care for his little sister Lana. While in college, he studies under a famous professor where he
discovers that college may in fact be shadier than the streets.When a test of his manhood makes him react like a gangster, it leads to
bloodshed and suffering. Benny tries to pull back and live life right, but it is too late and he dies by the sword.
“Undergrad” was directed by Brendan Kyle Cochrane. The movie was filmed in Pittsburgh, PA and is scheduled to be released in Q1 of 2010.
