MP3: Georgia & Declaime – “fOnk w/ an O” Feat. LMNO, Prod. By Dudley Perkins With the Physical Release of SomeOthaShip, Georgia & Declaime Celebrate with Fat Beats In-Store Appearance, SOBs Performance
The Song & Show Info:
Celebrating the physical release of their new album, SomeOthaShip, Georgia & Declaime are releasing another track from the new album. Produced by Dudley Perkins and featuring the Long Beach MC LMNO, “fOnk w/ an O” has heavy, layered beats, and the uniqueness that Georgia & Declaime bring to every song. Their vocalese, unorthodoxly rhythmic patterns, and original beats give the track the innate foundation of fOnkiness and continues to set Georgia & Declaime apart from the pack.
While the song’s production may intially pull the listener in, Declaime also has a message to send. “I might not know much/ Exact dates, times, and such/ But I do know how it feels when a heart gets touched/ Also when a life gets snatched/ Outta the body experience/ You musta asked the same question, that’s why you’re now hearing this/ Lord, help me please,” raps Declaime on the track where both he and rhyme partner LMNO explore spirituality, religion, and more. As both MC and producer for the song, Declaime (aka Dudley Perkins) leaves his fingerprints well ingrained into the song’s fabric. Speaking on Declaime’s expansive efforts Mello Music Group founder and owner Michael Tolle says, “Like a medieval block party with knights and jesters entertaining thee – witness Sir Dudley Perkins combine Dudley Perkins the producer, with Dudley Perkins the vocalist (“shoop doobie doo”), and Declaime MC – to complete his musical testament.”

“fOnk w/ an O” Feat. LMNO, Prod. Dudley Perkins
In a world made of plastic, Georgia Anne Muldrow & Declaime (AKA Dudley Perkins) breathe. Georgia radiates light into the west coast hip-hip scene with her vocal mixture of social revolution and raw street wisdom. Her choruses echo the voices of yesterday while her beats explore the cosmic sounds of tomorrow. Having already worked with the likes of Erykah Badu, Mos Def, and Madlib, Georgia finds herself taking a well-deserved turn in the spotlight and ready to keep up her collaborative efforts in 2010. Declaime is a veteran to the hip-hop game, with a voice that overflows with bluesy, syncopated veracity. Characterized by his impossible range and stirring cadence, Declaime has the ability to captivate with the unmistakable sound of experience, breathing a spiritual wind back into the funked out vibrations of hip-hop. Combined, Georgia & Declaime have created an impressive catalog of work including Georgia’s Worthnothings, Umsindo, and Kings Ballad, plus Declaime’s Conversations With Dudley, A Lil Light, Expressions, and Holy Smokes. SomeOthaShip is available now digitally via Mello Music Group.
