Tanya Morgan Announces Additional Dates For European Tour In Preparation For European Tour, Tanya Morgan Adds New Dates To Stir Excitement

Critical Praise for Tanya Morgan:

“This Brooklyn-Cincinnati hip-hop trio summoned old-school cheer, goofy skits and indelible hooks for a left-field masterpiece.” – Rated #1 Album across all genres for 2009 by Steve Smith, Time Out New York’s Music Editor

“While it’s clear that for the trio — all men, none named Tanya or Morgan — the late-’80s Native Tongues groups (particularly De La Soul) is the alpha and omega of hip-hop, Brooklynati captures it exactly right here, with breezy, jazzy tracks that have the sense of discovery that accompanied De La, A Tribe Called Quest, and the Jungle Brothers at their most freewheeling.” – eMusic.com

After a successful 2009 LP, Brooklynati, Tanya Morgan is gearing up for their first European tour with the announcement of additional dates to amp up their Great Britain invasion.

To expand on their previously revealed dates, Tanya Morgan will hit up Wyld Pytch Records in London on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 for an in-store at 4:30 PM with a 15-minute performance and a meet-and-greet. At night they’ll be performing at The Plantain Party at Favela Chic in London at 11 PM. On Thursday, May 13, 2010 Tanya Morgan will perform for Rapsploitation Sessions at The Swan in Ipswich at 8 PM. To continue their busy week, Skunkadelic’s album release party for “Musically Drifting” on Friday, May 14, 2010 will feature a performance by the crew at 9 PM. Rounding out the tour will be a live show at Club 2K on Saturday, May 15, 2010 sponsored by Dynamite and featuring a slew of artists and DJs.

“We have toured most of the US and Canada but it’s overdue time we showed the world what we can do,” says Von Pea. “Our peers are always amazed we haven’t been to Europe yet because they know the brand of hip-hop we make is loved abroad.” With a string of shows already confirmed, the busy group is excited to expand their community over the ocean. Von Pea says, “These dates are just the first strike. We are about to build another part of Brooklynati in Europe!”

Von Pea’s solo album, Pea’s Gotta Have It, drops this summer via Interdependent Media

The Background:

Tanya Morgan is back with their third project, Brooklynati, following the success of Moonlighting and The Bridge. Since Von Pea, Ilyas, and Donwill formed Tanya Morgan in 2003, they have received high praise from media elites such as Spin, The Source, XXL Magazine and a resounding seal of approval from the blogosphere. Considered by many to be our generation’s torchbearers for De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest, Tanya Morgan will once again put their skills on display with the unique hip-hop Americana sounds of their Brooklynati album this spring. Based on the fictitious city of Brooklynati, this release pushes the boundaries of a concept album by incorporating not only lyrical imagery but also cultivating a culture and mindset, which can be experienced through the City of Brooklynati Chamber of Commerce website: http://www.Brooklynati.com. The sites, sounds, memories, and events of Brooklynati were unleashed via Bay-Area based record label Interdependent Media, the architects behind the funding and development of Brooklynati. Wanderlusts can feed their souls at http://www.Brooklynati.com
