Line Pays Homage to Unique Interpretations of Hip Hop Culture in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris and Tokyo

Sedgwick & Cedar, a brand that celebrates innovation, creativity, and pioneers across multiple genres, has just announced a new collection representing the emergence of Hip Hop culture and its movement across the world with the new “Planet Rock” line. Products are available now at www.sc73.com.

The Planet Rock line is named after the single of the same name released in 1982 by Hip Hop’s “Master of Records” and founder of the Universal Zulu Nation Afrika Bambaataa that became a global hit and signaled the first Hip Hop tour across the world. With this as its inspiration, the Planet Rock line pays homage to the cities of New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris and Tokyo, who each embraced the culture of Hip Hop as it spread across the world and inspired their own movements and celebrations of music that are all represented in classic images on these limited-edition shirts.

Each design in the Planet Rock collection includes screen-printed images of monumental pieces of history stemming from those locations that each signaled the beginning of Hip Hop in those regions.

About Sedgwick & Cedar

Based in New York, Sedgwick & Cedar celebrates innovation, creativity, and pioneers across multiple genres of music. The line is inspired by the birthplace of Hip Hop, based off of the first house party held in The Bronx, New York on August 11, 1973. The brand currently creates and distributes clothing that pays homage to the birthplace, the roots, the movement and the icons of different cultures of music. Sedgwick & Cedar’s authenticity is enhanced by its mission to reintroduce the rich history of music and its culture to a modern global audience.
