MYSPACE “LIVE” AND HP PRESENT FREE BIG BOI CONCERT IN MIAMI, FL, ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18th
PERFORMANCE SPONSORED BY HP TO PROMOTE BETTER SOUNDING MUSIC AND NEW BIG BOI ALBUM: SIR LUCIOUS LEFT FOOT: THE SON OF CHICO DUSTY
MySpace Music and HP have announced a special performance by Big Boi on Wednesday, August 18 at Sobe Live in Miami, FL. The performance is part of HP’s Summer Music Campaign to promote better sounding music. Big Boi will take the stage in Miami to perform tracks from his recently released debut album titled Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty (Def Jam Recordings) along with GRAMMY-nominated Outkast classics.
MySpace Music will live-stream the 21+ show via USTREAM at http://www.myspace.com/hp at 11 p.m. EST so fans unable to attend the show can experience the special event live with stellar sound and picture quality. Free tickets for the event are available on a first-come, first-served basis at Sobe Live. Entry for the early event begins at 10 p.m. and the show starts at 11 p.m.
New HP computers with integrated Beats Audio™, which emerged from close collaboration between HP and Beats by Dr. Dre™, will be on display at the performance for fans to use. HP PCs with Beats Audio provide the ultimate listening experience, delivering music as the artist intended it.
Sir Lucious Left foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, the new solo album from Atlanta’s own Big Boi, sees the stylistically progressive rapper producing alongside a star-studded line up of ATLiens, including Outkast’s very own Andre 3000. Additional contributors to the album are T.I, Gucci Mane, Janelle Monae, B.o.B, and Jamie Foxx. Much of the album was recorded in Big Boi’s Stankonia studio, where he co-produced every musical element of the record. Content wise, the album summons a variety of genres that range from electro to soul, with Big Boi’s signature tongue-twisting flow and bass-driven force present on almost every track. In addition, Big Boi’s delivery has been well received by critics. Many reviews recall the resounding success of Outkast’s 2003 chart-topping Speakerboxx/The Love Below (Jive Records) to describe Big Boi’s newly imaginative efforts and successful ambition. As of this writing, the album has spent four weeks on the charts since it entered at #3 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on Billboard’s Digital Albums.
