Andreas Hale’s is set to launch on 10/10/10 at 10 P.M. PST.

Former BET music editor, journalist and counter culture rabble rouser Andreas Hale announced today the launch of, an innovative lifestyle Website catering to the needs of the sophisticated man without turning off women.

Described best as a shot of Spike TV and MTV with a chaser of Bill Maher, The Well Versed aims to fill a void in journalism by offering a humorous, yet mature and intelligent perspective on everything from sports and music to politics and social issues. Over the course of the last decade, Hale has covered boxing, mixed martial arts, video games, music, fashion, film, social issues and pop culture for a number of websites and magazines. It only made sense to bring all those subjects together under one umbrella.

For Hale, being well versed is more than a title; it’s a way of life.

“While holding positions as Editor at HipHopSite, HipHopDX and BET I realized that our readers were interested in far more than merely music,” Hale says. “What I found is that many of us have the same interests but there isn’t a location that harnesses all of this information and offers it in an educated manner that speaks to those who are mentally mature and interested in things other than what’s considered ‘hot’ and important by mainstream media.”

Assembling a group of rogue journalists from various walks of life, The Well Versed aims to bring back real journalism by departing from the glut of gossip blogs that aggregate content in place of producing original material.

The site will also serve as the unofficial editorial component of popular music blog, helmed by Joel “Shake” Zela and Meka Udoh, who worked with Hale during his tenure as Editor-In-Chief at The Well Versed will spotlight many of the artists that 2DopeBoyz features through news, in depth Q&A’s and feature stories.

“I know how important it is to get back to the roots of building an artist,” Hale explains. “I have always admired Shake and Meka’s fearlessness when it comes to taking a chance on new artists while spotlighting the well-known acts. TWV will take the music to another level by interviewing those artists with partnerships branded as a‘2DBZ x TWV’ collaboration.”

Hale and his band of scribes aren’t afraid to swim against the current of pop culture to give readers the information they need on stories other sites shy away from.
“It is our duty to become trailblazers and trendsetters who aren’t afraid to take a chance on a story when it isn’t popular,” Hale notes. “We aren’t afraid to put out music that hasn’t been cosigned by the mainstream. We aren’t scared to deliver an unpopular opinion, just as long as that opinion is educated. We are here to provide an alternative way of thinking for those who have been force fed stories that they could care less about.”
If Hale has his way, The Well Versed will be the site that Web 2.0 has been waiting for.

“We’re not here to change the game. We’re here to enhance it.” officially launches at 10:00 P.M PST on October 10th, 2010.
