FOOL’S GOLD TO RELEASE DEBUT COMPILATION, CELEBRATE 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY WITH PITCHFORK

OUT OCTOBER 25th ON DIGITAL DOWNLOAD & LIMITED EDITION CD AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY AT OPENING CEREMONY BOUTIQUES WORLDWIDE

– Fool’s Gold Vol 1 features all-new songs from the trendsetting indie label, including A-Trak, Treasure Fingers, Lil B and more

– FG anniversary party in conjunction with Pitchfork’s “Offline” series at Brooklyn Bowl Saturday, October 23rd

Coming off the twin successes of Duck Sauce’s viral smash “Barbra Streisand” and capacity crowds at their free DAY OFF labor day party in NYC, Fool’s Gold – the trendsetting indie label founded by DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs – will keep the momentum going with their first ever compilation album, Fool’s Gold Vol. 1, out October 25th through their joint venture with Downtown Records.

Rather than merely collect hits from the label’s already-impressive young career, Vol. 1 features new and previously unreleased music from the Fool’s Gold roster, family and friends, illustrating how the label that began as an outlet for “the absolute best in club music on all levels” has grown into a home for the best new independent music, period. “Ray Ban Vision,” A-Trak’s robot-rocking collab with Kanye West’s latest rap protege CyHi Da Prynce, sits comfortably next to Treasure Fingers’ joyous dance pop throwback “Keep Up” and The Suzan’s rollicking cover of Miike Snow’s “Animal,” along with new tracks from other exciting, constantly-evolving talents like Kingdom, Flosstradamus, and Lil B, the Rolling Stone-annointed “Hot Weirdo Rapper” who teases his forthcoming Fool’s Gold EP with the manic bass of “Freeze.” The compilation’s 14 surprising tracks share the latest obsessions from founders who are still fans, and gives a 3-D look at where Fool’s Gold has been and where they’re going next, informed by the same anything-goes DJ spirit the label was founded upon.

Fool’s Gold Vol. 1 will be available on all digital outlets and on a limited edition CD (designed by FG’s noted art director Dust La Rock) exclusive to Opening Ceremony boutiques in New York, LA and Tokyo. Also arriving from Fool’s Gold on the 25th is The Suzan’s Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat LP, produced by Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John.

To get the party started, the label will celebrate its three-year anniversary as part of Pitchfork’s “Offline” concert series at Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday, October 23rd. Don’t miss out on performances from A-Trak, Treasure Fingers, Donnis, CyHi Da Prynce, The Suzan, Kingdom and a very special live MPC set from Dipset producer Araabmuzik.
