MTV’s SWAY CALLOWAY BRINGS MC’s SAIGON AND JOE BUDDEN TOGETHER TO RECORD SONG FOR ALBUM “THE GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD”
Hip Hop Beef between MC’s is a familiar topic that’s discussed and reported regularly. We see the rivals play out on music, print and online. Most of the time, the rifts never end and sometimes remain for years. We’ve heard some of the greatest music come out of the beefs. Then there’s special occasions where MC’s see the bigger picture, bury the hatchet and do something positive. These historical events must be featured to show it’s bigger than the music and we all evolve.
MTV News Correspondent, Sway Calloway became the conduit to cement a truce between MC’s Saigon and Joe Budden. The two have been serving slurs and diss records back and forth over the recent years that caused a stir in the hip hop community. During Thursdays live interview on MTV’s RapFix, host Sway Calloway asked Joe Budden about the rivalry. He also asked Budden about doing a collaboration with Saigon for his upcoming debut album, THE GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD. Sway told Budden that Saigon always thought Budden was a dope MC. Joe Budden replied, “Let’s Do it.”
Less than eight hours after making the historical pact, Sway convinced the two MC’s to head uptown to Harlem studio, Stadium Red to record the Just Blaze produced track, “Bring Me Down.” Saigon and Joe Budden laced the re-mix with hot spitting lyrics that won’t disappoint fans and hip-hop lovers.
Saigon’s highly anticipated album, THE GREATEST STORY NEVER TOLD releases on February 15, 2011 on Suburban Noize Records.
