GREEN LABEL SOUND RELEASES NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR “CUT ME OUT” BY MNDR
Green Label Sound today releases the music video for “Cut Me Out” by electronic-pop songstress MNDR a.k.a. Amanda Warner. A project dreamed up by Warner and producer/co-writer Peter Wade, MNDR has been creating waves with her electrifying live shows across the globe with such heavy-hitters as Chromeo and Mark Ronson. MNDR first wrote “Cut Me Out” as a question to fans. Amanda explains, “What does it mean to you? Maybe we shut down the cell phones and close the laptops? Go for bike rides? Give your money away?… It’s about losing yourself and being in the moment.”
Inspired by Amanda’s vision of paying homage to the surrealist film Un Chien Andalou by Luis Bunel and Salvador Dali and the psychedelic, cult classic The Holy Mountain by Alejandro Jodro, Timothy Saccenti signed on to direct the video. Also responsible for the projection and lighting elements of MNDR’s live show, his goal was to give a, “video debut for the band that visually followed the language they’d already created sonically.” Using an augmented Kinect, and the help of Ivan Safrin, Amanda’s movements were then projected onto a special screen allowing her to interact with her digital doppelganger in real time. As the video progresses, the layers are cut away to reveal not only the real Amanda but also the raw spirit of MNDR.
Upon completion of the video, Amanda was pleased that she was given the, “opportunity to bring my artistic vision for Cut Me Out into reality and collaborate with some amazing artists and friends.”
