Ray C Drops New Mixtape In Anticipation of His 4 SXSW Shows

There is no slack in Ray C’s (@therealrayc) grind! In anticipation of his 4 SXSW showcases, the San Antonio emcee delivers a solid new mixtape aptly titled, 2 Weeks Notice featuring club bangers like “Go To Work” and “Got Damn” to ambitious lyrical records like “Cause & Effect”.

Ray C , a native of San Antonio, began his career as an underground hip-hop artist while earning his Masters degree at Texas State University. He earned a name for himself dominating freestyle battles and as a top 8 finalist in BET 106 & Park: Freestyle Friday. He was also featured on BET’s “The Deal” and has opened for numerous big name artists including Paul Wall and Chamillionaire.

Ray C has developed a reputation beyond that of a local hip hop artist, but that of an indispensable community leader. Upon graduation, Ray has continued to work at Texas State University mentoring students through Upward Bound programs and TRIO, a federal program designed to provide opportunities and services to individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. For Ray C, being a local hip hop artist goes beyond just performing at local clubs, but building the foundation of a strong community.

The music video for “Got Damn (Aww Man)” soft launched in December of 2012 and gained 200K views in it’s first week online. With such attention on the video and no original premiere partner, Ray C’s “Got Damn (Aww Man)” gained the attention of VEVO was featured on the homepage on January 7.
