PLATINUM-CERTIFIED STARS OF MTV’S MAKING THE BAND RETURN WITH EAGERLY AWAITED SOPHOMORE ALBUM; SUPERSTAR GIRL GROUP CELEBRATES RELEASE WITH TV PERFORMANCES, RADIO PROMO TOUR, AND EXCLUSIVE NYC IN-STORE EVENT; “DAMAGED” A TOP 10 POP SMASH AT iTUNES; “WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE” DROPS ON MARCH 18TH

Bad Boy Records has announced the upcoming release of “WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE,” the eagerly anticipated sophomore album from Danity Kane. The album – which features the new hit single, “Damaged” – arrives in stores and at all online retailers on March 18th.

“Damaged” sees the RIAA platinum-certified girl group – currently starring in the latest and greatest season of MTV’s blockbuster reality series, Making The Band – joining forces with the up-and-coming production team, Stereotypes, known for their hit collaborations with such artists as Cupid, Ne-Yo, and Omarion. The track is currently a top 10 smash on iTunes’ “Top Pop Songs” chart, while also scoring at a variety of radio formats, including Urban, Rhythmic, and Top 40 outlets nationwide. In addition, the single’s companion video – directed by Syndrome (Pretty Ricky, Lupe Fiasco, Trey Songz) – had its world premiere on MTV’s TRL earlier this week.

On Tuesday, March 18th, Dawn, Aubrey, D. Woods, Shannon, and Aundrea will appear live on TRL to herald the arrival of “WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE.” The week will also see visits to MTV’s The Big Ten and Sucka Free, as well as BET’s 106 & Park. Additional upcoming TV performances include the nationally syndicated Tyra Banks Show and Fox’s The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet (check local listings).

Danity Kane – currently featured on the covers of both King and Right On! – are now in the midst of a month-long promo tour, with stops slated for radio stations in major markets across the country through mid-April.

Last – but most certainly not least – Danity Kane will perform live on the eagerly anticipated season finale of MTV’s Making The Band, set to air Sunday, March 23rd at 8 pm EDT (check local listings). The broadcast will also feature the official announcement of Danity Kane’s upcoming North American concert tour, slated to hit the road in May.

Danity Kane will celebrate the March 18th release of “WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE” with an exclusive in-store event at New York City’s Best Buy (located at 529 Fifth Avenue). The group will be meeting fans and signing copies of their new CD, beginning at 7pm.

“WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE” follows the Making The Band 3-winning group’s blockbuster debut, which made a spectacular #1 debut on the SoundScan/Billboard 200 album chart upon its initial 2006 release. Fueled by the top 10 smash, “Show Stopper,” the self-titled album went on to achieve RIAA platinum certification for U.S. sales exceeding one million units.

Now, with “WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE,” Danity Kane have more than matched their Cinderella story debut, crafting an irresistible collection of new hits in association with such studio superstars as Danja, Stereotypes, Bryan Michael Cox, and Seven Aurelius (LL Cool J, Ashanti, Vanessa Carlton). “WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE” is Executive Produced by Bad Boy CEO Sean “Diddy” Combs and Bad Boy Entertainment president Harve Pierre.

Elephant Man Set to Release “Let’s Get Physical,” New CD from Bad Boy/VP Records Joint Venture, On April 8th CD features all star line up including Diddy, Wyclef, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, Shaggy, Swizz Beats, Kat Deluna, Mario Winans and Yung Joc

New York, NY – Dancehall King, Elephant Man, will release his latest studio CD, “Let’s Get Physical,” on April 8, 2008. A long time in the making, the star-studded project is the first release from a new venture which joins Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Records with the largest independent Jamaican music label, VP Records. “Let’s Get Physical” features the hit lead single “Five O,” on which Wyclef appears. The remix for “Five-O” is blazing a trail with rising digital sales and has caught attention at radio with an all star line up from Swizz Beats, Assassin, Yung Joc and Diddy. “Jump,” the hard-hitting, high energy second single, also features Swizz Beats. Barbados-born Rihanna appears on the steamy dance track “Throw Your Hands Up” and Elephant Man-fan Chris Brown lends his vocals to the bouncy “Feel the Steam.” Also check out “Body Talk” featuring Dominican R&B singer Kat Deluna and female rapper Jha Jha, and the hot remix for “The Way We Roll” with Busta and Shaggy. The set is executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs, Chris Chin, Harve Pierre and Willie Daniels.

“A true entertainer is versatile and makes music for the world,” says Jamaica-native Elephant Man, dubbed The Energy God by fans because of his high energy stage performances. Elephant Man first stormed on the stage back in 1998 under the wings of Bounty Killa and the Scare Dem Crew. The self-proclaimed Dancehall King is solely responsible for reuniting dancehall music with its fun free-spirited roots.

His debut album, Good 2 Go (VP Records), became a worldwide smash in 2004 with the release of chart topping party tunes like “Signal di Plane” and “Pon di River, Pon di Bank,” the single which snagged him a Source Award for “Dancehall/Reggae Artist of the Year” and the MTV2 nomination at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards.

Since then, Elephant Man has recorded collaborations with Lil’ Jon on the “Get Low Remix,” R. Kelly on “Reggae Bump Bump,” Pitbull and Daddy Yankee on the “Rah-Rah Remix,” and Janet Jackson on “All Nite (Don’t Stop).”

Elephant Man is excited about his major label joint venture (Bad Boy/VP Records) as he looks forward to making dancehall history with Sean “Diddy” Combs and the entire Bad Boy family. “I’ve been a fan of Bad Boy for the longest time and now I’m Bad Boy for life!,” Ele laughs. “We gonna take dancehall to another level.”

On “Let’s Get Physical,” Elephant Man fuses party tunes with lyrics that speak of the social ills and violence plaguing the people of Jamaica. His notorious dance anthems cascade throughout the record. “With the Bad Boy production and promotion teams, together with the Energy God…It’s gonna be madness” says Elephant Man.

“If you saw me today you are never gonna forget me…my hair, my clothes, my style…I’m crazy man, I’m the Energy God…Father of the Dancehall…”

CHERI DENNIS CELEBRATES CD RELEASE OF “IN AND OUT OF LOVE” WITH WIDE-RANGING PROMOTIONAL ITINERARY; SCHEDULE INCLUDES RADIO AND TV APPEARANCES, IN-STORE EVENTS, AND A VARIETY OF CHARITY FUNCTIONS; CD RELEASE FOLLOWS LAST YEAR’S iTUNES STORE EXCLUSIVE; “IN AND OUT OF LOVE” HITS STORES ON FEBRUARY 26TH

Bad Boy recording artist Cheri Dennis has slated a wide range of promotional activity surrounding the physical release of her acclaimed debut album, “IN AND OUT OF LOVE.” Released exclusively last November on the iTunes Store (www.itunes.com) – the first-ever major label R&B album to receive a three-month digital exclusive release via iTunes – the collection will now arrive in stores across North America on February 26th.

iTunes’ exclusive release of “IN AND OUT OF LOVE” immediately landed in the top 10 on iTunes’ “Top R&B/Soul Albums” sales chart. The album’s success was fueled in part by the Rodney Jerkins-produced album track, “Remind You,” which drew over a quarter of a million free downloads as the iTunes Store’s “Single of the Week.”

In addition to “Remind You,” “IN AND OUT OF LOVE” features the current hit jam, “Portrait of Love (Feat. Yung Joc and Gorilla Zoe).” The single – produced by Soul Diggaz (Beyoncé, Mary J Blige, Britney Spears) – is drawing top 40 airplay at both Urban and Urban AC radio outlets nationwide, having already been the #1 Most Added track at Urban AC and #3 Most Added at Urban Mainstream in its first week.

Cheri has also been named Clear Channel’s “Artist To Watch” for the month of February, with “Portrait of Love” featured on demand on all Clear Channel Urban and Rhythmic station websites across the country. Furthermore, the “Portrait of Love” companion video – directed by Petro (Rufus Wainwright, Kelly Clarkson) – is now in rotation at BET, MTV Jams, and VH1 Soul.

Cheri is currently out on national promotional tour to support her album release, with a whirlwind of radio and press appearances scheduled through early March. Her busy itinerary encompasses stops in a range of major markets, including New Orleans, Memphis, Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Detroit.

On Tuesday, February 26th, Cheri will herald the CD release of “IN AND OUT OF LOVE” with a live appearance on BET’s 106 & Park (check local listing). That same day will see her visiting the innovative New York City high school, the Bronx Millennium Art Academy. Dennis will spend the day meeting students and performing in support of Urban Farming, a volunteer program focused on eradicating hunger, while increasing diversity, motivating youth and seniors, and optimizing the production of unused land for food and alternative energy. For more information on Urban Farming, please see www.urbanfarming.org.

February 28th will find Cheri continuing her work with Urban Farming, this time by doing an outreach and awareness event at a Detroit high school. That same day will also see Dennis making an eagerly awaited in-store appearance at former NBA superstar Derrick Coleman’s SNYX Sneaker Studio, located at 8961 Linwood Avenue on Detroit’s West Side.

Cheri recently performed live at New York’s Apple Store SoHo in association with the renowned mentor/mentee network, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Before the show, Dennis held a private meet and greet with children from the program, signing autographs and taking pictures. She also spent her day accompanied by a “Little Sister,” providing a positive and encouraging role model to the young mentee, who also got to see first-hand the busy and exciting life of a major recording artist.

As if all that weren’t enough, Dennis will be performing live on an upcoming installment of the long-running syndicated TV program, It’s Showtime At The Apollo. The performance is set to tape on Saturday, March 1st, with a broadcast date to be announced later.

Close to two years in the making, “IN AND OUT OF LOVE” sees Cheri Dennis revealing herself to be much more than just a powerhouse vocalist. The singer co-wrote many of the album’s songs – including her breakthrough debut hit single, “I Love You” – working in collaboration with some top studio superstars, including Timbaland (Justin Timberlake, M.I.A., Kanye West), Mario Winans (Diddy, Whitney Houston, The Notorious B.I.G.), and others.

A slate of national press followed the initial release of “IN AND OUT OF LOVE,” with features and reviews appearing in a wide range of publications. Among the many print and online outlets to highlight Dennis were Entertainment Weekly, Giant, Complex, Billboard, Right On!, Black Beat, Hip Hop Weekly, and Sophisticate’s Black Hair, Inside Black Hollywood, and SOHH.com.

Sean Diddy Combs issues a call to action for young voters to stand up and be counted on Super Tuesday

SEAN “DIDDY” COMBS ISSUES A CALL TO ACTION FOR YOUNG VOTERS TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED ON SUPER TUESDAY

Diddy Declares 2008 “The Year of the Youth Vote”

New York, NY—Diddy issued a challenge to young voters everywhere to finish what they started in the 2004 election and make their voice heard by turning out in force and casting their ballots in the two dozen Democratic and Republican primaries taking place on Tuesday, February 5th.

More than any other group of voters, young people are most directly affected by the issues at stake in this election. From the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, to health care to the rising cost of a college education, young people need their voice to be heard, if there is going to be change on the critical issues.

“Thanks to your VOICE and your VOTE, the political candidates can no longer ignore your concerns about this country and your future. Young people are poised to continue the work that Citizen Change and other organizations started in 2004, when more than 20 million young people showed up at the polls and voted,” said Diddy. “In 2004, you waited in lines, you said enough was enough. And in 2008, you’ve inspired more young people get in the game.”

“Change will only be real when young people across this country go to the polls on Super Tuesday and in November and stand up and have their votes counted. This election is already historic because of who is running in it. It will gain a greater place in history because of who is voting in it.”

According to CIRCLE, voters age 18-29 account for 21% of the voting eligible population account for 20% of registered voters in this election. There are 32 million Millennial voters in the United States, who are spreading out across the political parties and winning their vote will be crucial to both determining each parties’ presidential nominee and who will ultimately become the next President of the United States.

Diddy will be announcing Citizen Change’s plan of action for the 2008 election in the coming months.

Harve Pierre named President of Bad Boy Records; develops Crazy Joint Production Imprint

HARVE PIERRE NAMED PRESIDENT OF BAD BOY RECORDS; DEVELOPS CRAZY JOINT PRODUCTION IMPRINT

Harve Pierre has been named President of Bad Boy Records, it was announced today by Bad Boy Entertainment founder and CEO Sean “P Diddy” Combs. Pierre will continue to report directly to Combs, and as President, he will oversee the finance, creative, promotional, marketing, A&R, International, and Sales divisions at the label. In addition, his Crazy Joint production imprint will develop artists and projects for the Bad Boy label. Bad Boy Records is a worldwide joint venture between Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment Group and Warner Music Group.

Pierre, who initially joined Bad Boy upon its inception in 1993, was most recently the label’s Executive Vice President/General Manager/Vice President of A&R. Having literally advanced from intern to President, he has personal, hands-on experience in virtually every area of record company operations. With a career spanning over 20 years, Pierre has evolved into one of the most accomplished members of the new generation of music executives whose work integrates both the creative and business spheres. In addition to his role as senior label executive and A&R head, his numerous creative credits include executive producer, vocal and music producer, artist, songwriter, video director, editor, and TV cast member.

Pierre has worked closely with dozens of artists, among them P Diddy, Notorious B.I.G., SWV, Faith Evans, Cheri Dennis, Total, Mario Winans, The Lox, 112, Shyne, Method Man, Boyz N Da Hood, B5, Cassie, Danity Kane, Yung Joc, Tyrese, Black Rob, Gorilla Zoe, Elephant Man, New Edition, and many more. He has served as Executive Producer on 50 Bad Boy albums, plus 5 projects during a 2-year stint with RCA Records.

“Harve’s promotion to President is well deserved” says Combs “he has been with Bad Boy since the beginning and has worked hard to learn all aspects of the business. He has always been an important part of the A&R process and it is only fitting that Bad Boy would house his imprint, Crazy Joint. I look forward to Harve’s continued success.”

“Harve Pierre is truly a modern day renaissance man,” said Atlantic President Julie Greenwald. “He A&R’s records, directs music videos, spearheads marketing campaigns and runs the Bad Boy label. Harve has become an invaluable partner to us. I join with my entire team on congratulating his much deserved promotion.”

“Harve’s diverse business background has made him a valuable addition to the Bad Boy team and this promotion is in recognition of all the hard work he has put in over the years,” says Lyor Cohen, Chairman and CEO of U.S. Recorded Music for Warner Music Group.

“Harve is one of the chief architects of the Bad Boy culture and this promotion reflects the dedication, consistency, and commitment he has brought to the company,” said Kevin Liles, Executive Vice President, Warner Music Group. “Harve has done much more than work at Bad Boy Records — he lives the Brand and has helped provide the foundation that will lead Bad Boy into its next decade.”

Harve first met fellow New Yorker Sean “P Diddy” Combs at Howard University in Washington D.C., where the two students promoted campus parties, both together and separately. When Combs began to shuttle between D.C. and New York City to intern at Uptown Records, Pierre remained at Howard, earning a degree in Business and Hospitality Management. Following graduation, he worked in hotel management and owned his own restaurant.

In 1992, Harve returned to his first love, music, when he joined P Diddy at Uptown, where Combs had become the label’s VP of A&R. He started out as an intern for his college buddy, setting up studio sessions for the likes of Mary J. Blige and Jodeci. When P Diddy was notoriously fired from his Uptown post, Harve left with him to help launch Bad Boy Entertainment. Starting out as P Diddy’s assistant, he was quickly promoted to Director of A&R, overseeing the production of Craig Mack’s Project: Funk Da World, among other projects.

In 1995, Harve left Bad Boy to broaden his experience in the music industry. He became Associate Director of Black Music at RCA Records, giving him invaluable major label experience. In 1997, with hit albums from SWV, Rome, and Shante Savage under his belt, Harve returned to his home, Bad Boy.

Back at Bad Boy, Harve advanced from Vice President of A&R to Senior Vice President in 1999 and Executive Vice President/General Manager in 2003, all the while retaining his role as head of A&R. In 2002, when Bad Boy inked a deal with MTV, Harve made his television debut when he was cast in the hit show, Making The Band 2, for two seasons.

Pierre has also earned a reputation as an innovative video director and editor, pioneering a number of video techniques. Among his video credits are serving as director of “Dead Wrong” for the Notorious B.I.G. and “Special Delivery” for G-Dep, as well as editing most of director Hype Williams’ earlier work. Pierre has edited 35 music videos to date which includes “Victory” for P Diddy featuring Notorious B.I.G., “One More Chance” for the Notorious B.I.G., OutKast’s breakthrough first video, “Playalistic,” and “Flava In Ya Ear” by Craig Mack – the first artist and #1 smash single released by Bad Boy. Among his recent work, Pierre edited the chart-topping videos for Block Ent’s Yung Joc smash singles, the #1, Grammy-nominated “It’s Goin’ Down” and “I Know You See It,” just to name a few.

Pierre has also started building his Crazy Joint imprint, to be distributed by Bad Boy/Atlantic Records beginning in May 2008.
