The Presets are touring in support of their 2012 album Pacifica, which reached Gold in Australia, #1 on the iTunes Dance chart, and #3 on the US iTunes Electronic chart. Featuring ten prismatic, synth-laced songs, Pacifica sees the Presets boldly venture into new, uncharted musical territories. Traversing both light and shade in energy and emotion, the album was produced by the band – Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes – and mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer. Released to critical acclaim, Pacifica contains the hit singles “Promises,” “Ghosts,” and “Youth in Trouble.”

It’s been over four years since The Presets captured the world’s imagination with their blitzkrieg of
an album, the sophomore Apocalypso. Spawning five hit singles and exceeding Triple Platinum
sales in Australia, Apocalypso set dizzying new heights for dance music in Australia. The single “My People” stayed in the ARIA charts for over 75 weeks, making it the longest charting Australian single in ARIA chart history.

The Presets were recently awarded Single of the Year (Readers’ Choice) for “Ghosts” at the 4th annual Rolling Stone Awards.

Simian Mobile Disco Kick Off North American Live Tour This Week In Los Angeles; Announce In-Store DJ Set at Mount Analog in LA

Simian Mobile Disco–the acclaimed UK electronic duo comprised of James Ford and Jas Shaw–kick off their North American live tour in support of their recent full length album Unpatterns and recently released EP A Form Of Change this Friday, November 30 in Los Angeles at the Fonda Theatre. The A Form Of Change World Tour will hit twelve North American cities before concluding on the two sailings of the S.S. Coachella next month. SMD has also announced an in-store DJ set at Mount Analog in Los Angeles on Thursday, November 29 from 6-8pm. To celebrate the kickoff of the tour, the duo released a live version of their classic track “Wooden” from their recent show in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

SMD have also created the new Tumblr site SMDLive.tumblr.com to focus on their live show from both musical and visual perspectives. It features exclusive content, including this video from the debut of their live show at the FYF Festival in Los Angeles earlier this fall

Fans have the chance to win live tickets through a Tumblr-exclusive competition. Running throughout their tour, the “re-blog and follow” contest will allow fans to win a pair of tickets to one SMD show of their choice. To enter, fans should follow SMD LIVE (http://smdlive.tumblr.com), re-blog the FYF 2012 clip and leave a comment with the Date and City of the desired show. Before each date, SMD will chose one winner who will receive 2 tickets to the show (no transport or accommodations provided).

Simian Mobile Disc recently released the A Form Of Change EP on Wichita Recordings. The EP comes from the same recording sessions as their critically praised album Unpatterns, released earlier this year. The collection of four tracks is another sterling example of Simian Mobile Disco’s restless creativity, and their yen for refining and redefining the parameters of their own musical landscape with almost laserlike precision, following Brian Eno’s maxim that “repetition is a form of change.”

The term bass music is all too-often overused to bracket UK music of a certain low-end frequency together. But for 19 year-old xKore (pronounced as ex-core), his diverse productions and already brimming cannon of exquisitely produced music is deserving of a wide spread and eclectic bracket – if you must choose to include him in one, that is. If it’s frenetic, sharply tweaked drum beats and musically reinforced, melodic bass lines you’re after, you can be safe in the knowledge that xKore’s etched his name into uniquely heavy slabs of futurism soaked, contemporary dance floor music. Just ask the likes of Skream & Benga, Dillon Francis, Borgore and many more household names from across electronic music’s leading lights, all of whom have cottoned on to his mean, lean experimental sound.

xKore first burst onto the scene with a free track entitled ‘Hello’ last October (which has now broken the one million mark on UKF). Ever since then (and in the space of just a year and a half) he’s notched up a selection of evolving releases, etching his name into some of the underground’s leading stables and avoiding the’ dubstep-by-numbers’ template that plagues the scene; turning his hand to a range of styles, from his blistering debut EP Domination on Cognition to the Full Russian EP on Buygore, Lazershark EP for GAWA and recent EP Stabs for Inspected.

Things have really started to blossom for the young xKore when his remix of Sub Focus’ ‘Falling Down’ smashed its way to No.1 on the Dubstep Top 100 Chart, and has propelled him to the forefront of the current musical explosion. With forthcoming remixes for the likes of drum and bass veteran Metrik on Viper Recordings, UK urban collective The Foreign Beggars and a full, second release coming up on Inspected, xKore’s grabbing the bull by the horns with intense vigor and galvanized spirit.

As xKore’s sound progresses alongside his formative years, his growing trajectory shows no sign of letting up, as he continues to fuse together the best of all contemporary dancefloor music into his own brand of heavyweight destroyers. The future holds no limits for this titan of ‘bass culture’ – so make sure you don’t sleep on him for one second

Major Lazer new album Free The Universe and Major Lazer tour dates

MAJOR LAZER’S NEW LP “FREE THE UNIVERSE” COMING NOVEMBER 6th 2012

US TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED, EXCLUSIVE PRE-ORDER VIA GILT

“…the great appeal of Major Lazer is watching these dancehall concoctions transform, as elements of dub and hip-hop and reggae are also smashed into one freaky, juiced up mutant (kinda like the fictional Major Lazer himself).”
– PITCHFORK

Since its inception in 2009, the one-armed cartoon Jamaican renegade know as Major Lazer (fronted by Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Diplo) has become a cultural zeitgeist- from being sampled by Beyonce for her single “Run The World (Girls)”, selling out shows and playing festivals across the world or leading the way in the current dancehall revival movement and producing the upcoming Snoop Dogg album, Major Lazer’s world takeover since the release of GUNS DON’T KILL PEOPLE…LAZERS DO is undeniable. The highly anticipated second full length installment of the Major Lazer saga, FREE THE UNIVERSE, is set to be released November 6th 2012 on Mad Decent / Downtown.

With one full length and two EPs under its belt, Major Lazer has already given a sneak peak of what’s to come with this year’s much lauded new single, “Get Free” featuring Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors, which SPIN called “a meeting point between Jamaica, West Africa, and Brooklyn”. FREE THE UNIVERSE forges a new path for Major Lazer, now with Diplo as the sole executive producer for the project, and includes exciting collaborations with Bruno Mars, Tyga, Flux Pavillion, Wynter Gordon, Shaggy, Wyclef, Ezra Koening from Vampire Weekend, Dev and more.

In other news, producers Ariel Rechtshaid and Dre Skull join Major Lazer for the upcoming Snoop Dogg album Snoop Lion “Reincarnated” as Major Lazer. Major Lazer will also be featured on the upcoming title track from No Doubt’s highly anticipated album with famed dancehall artist Busy Signal. The official remix for Hot Chip “Look At Where We Are” is also available.

A limited edition “Get Free” 12″ came out on July 31st, featuring official remixes from drum & bass king Andy C, Brazilian trio Bonde do Role and new comers What So Not. the latter being found on-line as a bootleg.
