MTV’S MAKING THE BAND RETURNS WITH THREE NEW ALBUMS FROM THE SERIES’ STARS; NEW SINGLES FROM DANITY KANE AND MTB4 FINALISTS ARRIVE AT ONLINE RETAILERS TOMORROW;FULL-LENGTH COLLECTIONS TO FOLLOW IN MARCH
Bad Boy Records has announced the upcoming release of three new albums from the stars of the hit MTV reality series, Making The Band. The news comes as the highly rated series kicks off its latest season, beginning tonight, January 28th at 10pm ET/PT (check local listings).
Making The Band 4, Season 2 will feature previous MTB sensations Danity Kane, along with last year’s as-yet-unnamed quintet and additional MTB4 finalist Donnie Klang. The upcoming season will see all three acts living together as they work to complete new albums, which will then be released in the weeks to follow. The releases kick off on March 11th, with the arrival the MTB4 quintet’s hotly anticipated debut album. The following week will see Danity Kane rolling out their eagerly awaited second album, due in stores on March 18th. Finally, Klang is set to unveil his currently in-the-works debut later this spring. All three collections are Executive Produced by Bad Boy CEO Sean “Diddy” Combs and Bad Boy Entertainment president Harve Pierre.
The albums will be heralded with two brand-new singles from Danity Kane and the MTB4 quintet, both set to drop at all online retailers on Tuesday, January 29th – the day after the season premiere. Danity Kane’s “Damaged” sees the RIAA platinum-certified girl group joining forces with the up-and-coming production team, Stereotypes, known for their hit collaborations with such artists as Cupid, Ne-Yo, and Omarion. “Got Me Going,” the second single from the talented MTB4 performers, was produced by the one-and-only Mario Winans, a longtime Bad Boy family member, famed for his work with Diddy and The Notorious B.I.G., not to mention Destiny’s Child, Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole, and countless others.
“Got Me Going” will proclaim the as-yet-untitled debut album from Brian Andrews, Mike McCluney, Qwanell Mosley (aka “Q”), Robert Curry, and Willie Taylor – the five talented artists chosen by Diddy and MTV viewers around the world on the blockbuster Making The Band 4 finale last September. In addition to the aforementioned Mario Winans, the collection features production from The Runners (T.I., Chris Brown, Rick Ross), Jim Bean, Grammy Award-winner Adonis (Diddy, Usher, Danity Kane), and multiple Grammy Award-winner Bryan Michael Cox (Usher, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey), who was featured on Making The Band helming the quintet’s debut single, “Exclusive (No Excuses).”
“DAMAGED” is the sophomore album from Dawn, Aubrey, D. Woods, Shannon, and Aundrea, known worldwide as the top-charting five-girl outfit, Danity Kane. The set follows the Making The Band 3-winning group’s blockbuster debut, which made a spectacular #1 debut on the SoundScan/ Billboard 200 album chart upon its initial 2006 release. Fueled by the top 10 smash, “Show Stopper,” the self-titled album went on to achieve RIAA platinum certification for U.S. sales exceeding one million units. Now, with “DAMAGED,” Danity Kane have more than matched their Cinderella story debut, crafting an irresistible collection of new hits in association with such studio superstars as Danja, Stereotypes, Bryan Michael Cox, and Seven Aurelius (LL Cool J, Ashanti, Vanessa Carlton).

RICK ROSS – Trilla – Slip N’ Slide / Def Jam Recordings – December 18, 2007
“SPEEDIN'” FEATURING R. KELLY, FIRST SINGLE FROM TRILLA, #1 MOST ADDED AT URBAN RADIO AS ROSS HEATS UP THE STREETS WITH “STREET MONEY” FEAT. FLO RIDA; ALBUM FEATURES ALL-STAR LINE-UP: JAY-Z, YOUNG JEEZY, LIL WAYNE, AKON, T-PAIN & MORE
Follow-up to phenomenal #1 album Port Of Miami from 2006, containing RIAA platinum #1 mastertone single “Hustlin'”
Slip N’ Slide/Def Jam recording artist Rick Ross, who rose from ruling the underground rap scene in Miami, to becoming 2006’s buzz-worthiest hip-hop artist with the RIAA platinum #1 single “Hustlin'” – and his #1 Pop/#1 R&B/#1 Rap major label debut album Port Of Miami – returns with TRILLA, the long-awaited follow-up and one of 2007’s most hotly anticipated new releases, set to arrive in stores December 18th. Busting open the path for TRILLA is its first single release, “Speedin’,” featuring R. Kelly.
“Speedin'” is off to a fast start. The track was the #1 most added single at urban radio this week, and will be prominently featured in ABC’s coverage of the NASCAR finals on Saturday. “We’re speed-racing to the top,” Ross told MTV News about the track. “It’s a race to see who gets the most money, it’s a race to see who puts their side on the map, it’s a race to see who’s the best. Living, to me, is a race. It ain’t no time for sleeping and resting. It’s that fast life.” Following the platinum success of his #1 debut album, Ross has had his pick of A-list collaborators. R. Kelly was at the top of that list. “I been a fan of his for so long,” Ross noted to MTV. “Once I got my money right, I had to go see him.”
“This album is better, bigger,” says Ross. “When ‘Hustlin’ took off I finished Port of Miami in the back of the van on promo tour, this one I really sat down with producers and everybody I really wanted to work with and put together something that’s really timeless.” DJ Toomp, Cool N Dre, and The Runners are among the track masters lending their talent to Trilla and the results are nothing short of phenomenal. “Street Money” featuring fellow Floridian and Poe Boy brethren Flo Rida is banger, and is already heating up the streets. The monumental “Maybach Music” features Jay-Z and takes the chill factor of the “Hustlin” remix to unfathomable levels. That song will be battling head-to-head with “Luxury Tax” (featuring Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy and Trick Daddy) for record of the year.
One of last years biggest records, “Hustlin'” was certified gold at the inaugural RIAA mastertone certification press conference in June 2006, and hit platinum one week before the album’s release – to become the first mastertone ever certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of 1 million copies before the associated album had even been released. With the success of Port Of Miami, six-foot-two, 300-pound Rick Ross finally came into the spotlight. A “hip-hop heavyweight,” was how the New York Times described him. “The number one ghostwriter in the South,” was how he described himself and his work behind the scenes for all those years. “I’m bridging the gap between the South and the East Coast,” he told Rolling Stone. “The sound is real Dirty South. But I’m spittin’ hard, to where the East Coast appreciates it.” All eyes are now on Rick Ross, as TRILLA underscores the promise of one of today’s premiere hip-hop voices. “I’m A-List top shelf right here,” Ross says proudly. “This is strictly that Caterpillar Sushi. Port of Miami let them know that I rep the streets, but this time we reppin the streets and letting them know we commercially successful. So expect some big, big things.

LAUNCHES ‘MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE’ CONTEST FOR FANS
The coutdown has ended! Young Jeezy Presents USDA: Cold Summer “The Authorized Mixtape” released on CTE, and features the underground banger “White Girl” and the new single “Corporate Thuggin'” is released today, May 22nd.
Cold Summer is a certified street banger from top to bottom, featuring production work from CTE’s stable of up-and-coming producers like Sanchez, Nazty, Midnight Black and Drumma Boy. “I wanted to do it mixtape-style ’cause I wanted it to be something for the streets,” explains Jeezy. ” It’s a street album, just raw.” USDA – Jeezy, ATL spitter Slick Pulla and Panama City’s Blood Raw – are featured on the cover of the June issue of street bible XXL Magazine.
It’s an exciting time for Young Jeezy: he has just launched his Rocawear-distributed clothing line, Eighty Seven Thirty Two (8732). His sophomore album The Inspiration has pushed past platinum status and is out-selling nearly every rap album on the charts. The smash second single “Go Getta” (featuring R. Kelly) hit #1 on BET’s 106 & Park, Big 10 on MTV, and broke the Top 5 at urban radio. The Inspiration’s third single, “Dreamin'” featuring Keyshia Cole, has impacted at radio and the Chris Robinson-directed video has been added at BET and MTV.
Jeezy has a mission for the new single: to make dreams come true. “Dreamin” is a heartfelt testament of his troubled past and talks about Jeezy’s ambition to survive the perils of living in a tough neighborhood. As the self-anointed “Soul Survivor,” Jeezy realizes that many others have faced similar turmoil. Reflecting on his past, he will utilize the success from this album to help others overcome their hardships.
Young Jeezy will launch the “Make Your Dream Come True” contest to coincide with the release of the single and video. This will be an open invitation to fans to share their dreams with Jeezy and ultimately have him fulfill their wishes. Fans will direct all of their stories to his official website, www.youngjeezy.com and Young Jeezy will personally review each dream. One lucky fan will have the chance to have Jeezy make their dream come true.
The “Make Your Dreams Come True” contest is a genuine effort by Young Jeezy to personally touch the fans and let them know that he identifies with their struggles. It is also a motivational tribute to those who have inspired him during his childhood and a way of passing the torch to uplift the next generation of future leaders. Both the single and contest give a sense of triumph to Young Jeezy. He says, “Sometimes I look at my life and I’m amazed at how far I’ve come. If it wasn’t for certain people supporting me, I don’t think I’d be able to accomplish what I have…that’s why I’m doing this for my fans. They’re the ones who helped to make Young Jeezy number one and it’s important that I give back to them. I wanted to do more than just say ‘thank you,’ I wanted to show them how thankful I am that they’re helping me realize my dreams. For me, this whole contest, and even my career will make me feel like I’ve accomplished a lot if I can help someone else realize their dreams too.”
