The name, Dezert Eez (Desert Eagle) is symbolic of a weapon created in Israel that was later brought to the states to be manufactured. This is reminiscent of the history of the Original Man and Dezert Eez infuses this spirit and philosophy into all of their music. They have been recording for months, perfecting their craft and channeling their raw, underground sound and now the result of all that handwork is an exceptional album. Dezert Eez is an amazing rap trio heralding from the Midwest, they already have a huge buzz in the on line community. The members of the group, O’nill (Jerron Mosley), 5-Star (Mike Williams) and Nivek (Kevin Williams) all met in college while attending WMU. They formed Dezert Eez a few years ago to provide a fresh alternative to the commercialized, mainstream rap music. Following up their tour experience with a number of successful mix tapes the group continued to work on their debut album. In the interim one member of the group, 5-Star teamed up with hip hop heavyweights C-Rayz Walz, and Wu Tang affiliates Killah Priest and Bronze Nazareth to form a supergroup the Almighty and they released one critically acclaimed album Original Sin on Babygrande Records.

After reflecting on all their individual and collective experiences and successes Dezert Eez teamed up with N-cendiary Entertainment to release their commercial debut. Unapologetic, raw, gritty, reality tinged lyrics that transport and elevate the listener to a new state of consciousness.

N*E*R*D* releases fourth album, “Nothing”, on November 2nd, 2010

N*E*R*D* releases fourth album, “Nothing”, on November 2nd, 2010

New York, NY – November 2, 2010: Star Trak/Interscope artists N*E*R*D* have released Nothing, their fourth studio album on in the US and internationally. The group came up with the title because according to N*E*R*D* front man Pharrell Williams “It’s like nothing you’ve ever heard.” The first single from the album, “Hot-N-Fun” featuring Nelly Furtado, was released on June 29th, 2010. The group premiered their second single, a track produced by electronic music duo Daft Punk called “Hypnotize U”, on The Late Show with David Letterman on September 28th, 2010.

Whereas their first album, In Search Of…, was an imaginative, exploration of identities, their second album, Fly Or Die, sought out the range of genres and sounds that have influenced the group, and their third album, Seeing Sounds, grinded everything together, Nothing promises to be an album that delivers a brand new N*E*R*D* sound, an album that amplifies the attitudes, style and persona that has made Pharrell, Chad and Shae the transcendent cultural icons they are today.

As part of the beat-making duo, the Neptunes, and the alternative rock trio, N.E.R.D., Pharrell has helped A-List pop stars such as Justin Timberlake, Nelly, and Usher win Grammy awards and sell millions of albums. Pharrell partnered with Chad Hugo at a junior high band camp and they later formed the Neptunes. The duo caught the attention of Teddy Riley and landed work with SWV and Sean “Diddy” Combs who hired them to produce songs for Total and Mase. Noreaga’s 1998 hit “Superthug” took them to the heights of fame. Their list of collaborators now includes Ol’ Dirty Bastard, No Doubt, Janet, Britney Spears, *NSYNC, TLC, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, Kelis, Busta Rhymes, Babyface, Mariah Carey and Justin Timberlake. In 2003, they took home the Grammy for Producer of the Year (Non-classical). Pharrell and Chad then teamed up with childhood friend Shay Haley to form N.E.R.D. The unit has released three critically acclaimed; platinum albums; 2001’s In Search Of…, 2004’s Fly or Die, and 2008’s Seeing Sounds which debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200, selling 80,000 units in its first week.

THE BLACK EYED PEAS TO RELEASE BRAND-NEW ALBUM — THE BEGINNING — ON NOVEMBER 30TH, 2010

THE BLACK EYED PEAS TO RELEASE BRAND-NEW ALBUM — THE BEGINNING — ON NOVEMBER 30TH, 2010

FIRST SINGLE FROM THE BEGINNING, “The Time (Dirty Bit),” AVAILABLE FROM ALL DIGITAL RETAILERS ON NOVEMBER 9TH

ALBUM IS THE FOLLOW-UP TO GRAMMY AWARD WINNING CD THE E.N.D.

(Santa Monica, CA) — Six-time Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum recording artists The Black Eyes Peas have announced that they will release a brand-new album, entitled The Beginning, on November 30th, 2010, on Interscope Records.

The Black Eyed Peas’ sixth album, The Beginning is the follow-up to the group’s blockbuster cd The E.N.D. Released in June 2009, The E.N.D. has sold more than 11 million copies world wide, while spending 52 weeks on the Billboard Top 200 chart. It is also the first album in two decades by a duo or group to yield five Top 10 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, including the No. 1 hits “Boom Boom Pow,” “I Gotta Feeling” (which is the best-selling digital song in SoundScan history), and “Imma Be,” as well as the Top 10’s “Meet Me Halfway” and “Rock That Body.” In addition, The E.N.D. was nominated for six 2010 Grammy Awards and won for Best Pop Vocal Album, “Boom Boom Pow” won Best Short Form Music Video and “I Gotta Feeling” won for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group.

While the title of The E.N.D. was a play on words (standing for “The Energy Never Dies”), the new album’s title, The Beginning, “refers to what is actually happening in the world right now,” says will.i.am. “The Beginning is symbolic of adopting new technologies, such as augmented reality, 3D, and 360 video. It’s also about being experimental and taking songs we’ve liked from the past and playing around with sick, crazy beats.”

In keeping with that manifesto, the first single from The Beginning is “The Time (Dirty Bit),” which is built around a sample from the classic 1987 theme from Dirty Dancing, (“I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” recorded by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes. “The song is a celebration of this amazing time in our lives,” says vocalist Fergie. “We’ve been on tour all over the world, and looking out at stadiums full of people who came out to see us — that’s as big as it gets. After the shows, we go out to the clubs and meet the fans; those are moments that we have to remember.” “Plus the fact that we get to experience it with each other,” adds vocalist apl.de.ap, “that’s the best feeling ever.”

“You never know what’s going to happen, so you want to make the best of every day,” says will.i.am. “We wanted to capture that feeling and release a song that celebrates with the fans because it wouldn’t have happened without them.” This album is the beginning of a new era of Pea world domination — fasten your seat belts pea-ple enjoy the ride, declares Taboo.

The Black Eyed Peas have shot a video for “The Time (Dirty Bit),” with director Rich Lee, who also lensed the Peas’ “Imma Be Rocking That Body” video, as well as clips for Eminem (“Not Afraid”), The All-American Rejects (“The Wind Blows”), Fergie (“Clumsy”), and the Pussycat Dolls (“Hush Hush”).

The Beginning will be released in several physical formats – a standard CD, a deluxe CD that includes 3 bonus songs, a full album vinyl and a combo two-disc set of 20 songs that includes The Beginning & The Best of THE E.N.D. – and digitally at all online retailers.

The Black Eyed Peas are currently on the road on their Blackberry Presents “The E.N.D. World Tour 2010,” which culminates this fall with shows in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru after extensive North American and European legs over the past year. The New York Times described the tour as “pop’s latest sci-fi spectacle,” while Spin.com raved “they push the boundaries of what it means to be one of the top-selling acts in music today” and the New York Post declares a “visually stunning production.”

The E.N.D. was The Black Eyed Peas first original music since 2005’s Monkey Business, which was certified triple platinum in the U.S., with worldwide sales of more than nine million. Monkey Business generated Grammy Awards over two consecutive years, for “Don’t Phunk with My Heart” and “My Humps.” The Peas’ first Grammy Award came six years ago, for “Let’s Get It Started,” from their breakthrough 2003 album Elephunk, which introduced Fergie into the lineup, and transformed the group into interna tional superstars with cumulative 25x platinum sales in nearly a dozen countries around the world. In 2006, Fergie released her six-million-selling solo debut The Dutchess and 2007 Producer of the Year Grammy-nominee will.i.am released Songs About Girls. Since forming in 1995, The Black Eyed Peas have sold more than 28 million albums worldwide and more than 30.8 million digital tracks. In addition, they have logged more than 300 headline tour dates in 29 countries with more than 2.2 million tickets sold. The group has been nominated for a 2010 American Music Award in the Favorite Band, Duo or Group category.

Statik Selektah and Termanology to Release Collaborative album “1982” on October 26th, 2010

Statik Selektah and Termanology to Release Collaborative album “1982” on October 26th, 2010

Since late in 2009, Emcee/Producer tandem Statik Selektah and Termanology have been hard at work on their landmark collaborative album 1982. Now New York transplants, Statik and Termonology are Massachusetts natives and have worked together frequently throughout the last five years—yet 1982 marks their first full-length project together.

Termanology began making a name for himself with several highly acclaimed 12″ singles. At the onset of 2006, Term’s big break came when DJ Premier blessed him with one of his signature, scratch-laden beats. “Watch How It Go Down” instantly became an underground classic and with it Termanology thrusted himself onto Hip-Hop’s international radar. The conscious hood anthem garnered the earnest MC tons of praise, landing him in The Source’s “Unsigned Hype” and XXL’s “Show and Prove” columns. On September 30, 2008, he released his debut album, Politics As Usual, to critical acclaim. Politics As Usual featured production and appearances from Hip-hop heavyweights such as Bun B, Prodigy, Freeway, Sheek Louch, The Alchemist, Pete Rock, Buckwild, Easy Mo Bee & Large Professor.

Establishing his own spot amongst the ranks of East Coast hip-hop’s seminal figures, DJ/producer Statik Selektah utilized his turntabling skills and ingenuity in PR and promotions to break some of the region’s most promising artists, bearing his own influence on the national mixtape circuit. As a producer he has worked with Talib Kweli, Bun B, Styles P, Consequence, Freeway, M.O.P. and Jadakiss (among many others); and most importantly, the DJ became a major-player on the mixtape circuit as his releases with Nas, Q-Tip, John Legend, and Saigon received major accolades and write-up’s. Statik dropped his first LP, Spell My Name Right in 2007, Stick 2 the Script in 2008 and his third full-length solo-project, 100 Proof: The Hangover in 2010.

Statik has revealed that 1982 will be released on October 26, 2010 through Showoff Records, in conjunction with Term’s ST. Records and famed Boston underground Hip Hop imprint—Brick. The 1st leak from the album is the grimey headnodder “Goin Back.” The record has been getting rave reviews on the net, radio & streets alike and features legendary West Coast act Xzibit (MTV’s Pimp My Ride) & “The Hustler” Cassidy. A video is in the works for “Goin Back” with director John Colombo, who recently shot visuals the for official single off the 1982 album – “You Should Go Home,” which features “Mr. 5 Mics” Bun B & Maybach Music crooner Masspike Miles. The video for “You Should Go Home” is out now and the single is available on Itunes & All digital stores.

With the release date for the project now on the horizon, Termanology laments on the project named after his and Statik’s mutual year of birth – “I’m excited, the album is finally here and hip-hop is in desperate need of an album like this right now.” Other album highlights include Term spazzing out on the 100 bar intro “The World Renown” and linking up with legendary MC’s Inspectah Deck, Styles P & M.O.P.

As an added bonus, Statik Selektah has also revealed that the duo will release a free Bonus EP of exclusive material to those who provide proof of purchase of the album.

QUANNUM PROJECTS TO RELEASE PIGEON JOHN’S DRAGON SLAYER OCTOBER 12TH, 2010

QUANNUM PROJECTS TO RELEASE PIGEON JOHN’S DRAGON SLAYER OCTOBER 12TH, 2010
On his fifth solo album, Pigeon John embarks on new territory producing the entire album with help from General Elektriks’ Hervé Salters

PIGEON JOHN: DRAGON SLAYER
(Quannum Projects; Oct. 12, 2010)

Quannum Projects is set to release LA-based Pigeon John’s new album Dragon Slayer on October 12, 2010, the follow up to critically acclaimed Pigeon John…And The Summertime Pool Party. Known for his wildly energetic performances, Pigeon John, deemed “a showman in the tradition of Cab Calloway and August Darnell” by the Los Angeles Times, will be wowing crowds again with live dates this fall.

Dragon Slayer houses the signature Pigeon John humor and smarts but with a whole new sound. With the aid of General Elektriks’ Hervé Salters, he produced the whole record, including, for the first time, recording and chopping up his own instrumentation rather than just flipping samples and banging on an MPC.

Pigeon John explains, “I’m enjoying the new record because of Hervé’s touch on it. The songs ran out of my hands and grew up like children. Control went out the window, and the songs stood on their own two feet without my help. Dragon Slayer is the best TV pilot ever written. That’s all I have to say, plus give me a pint…”

The dragon that Pigeon John slays isn’t just the malaise of a quarter-life crisis; it’s all the little obstacles and stories that come together to make a person. It’s that moment of realization, as PJ details on the head-nodding harmonies of “Buttersoft Seats”, when buying a nephew’s new Jordans suddenly becomes more important than owning the hottest whip on the block. Or how, with the right mind state, sipping coffee in your backyard can turn you into “a young Sean Connery in Cabo”; at least while “So Gangster” sets the soundtrack. On “Ben Vereen” only Pigeon John could create a hook like, “I hate you so much” that goes well with a smile on the face and a kick in the step. Dragon Slayer showcases Pigeon John’s sophisticated and witty storytelling ability while not binding to any one genre.

Pigeon John, whether backed by a live band or simply by beats (always complimented, of course, with his smooth moves), has incredibly commanding stage presence and charisma.

Of his love for the live show, Pigeon John says “It’s is where the rubber meets the road. A show can never be leaked or recreated. It’s traditional, in a sense, just the performer and the people. Vaudeville almost. The potential to flop is inches away from washing over the crowd and winning them. And that danger is what I’m into. You can’t fake a show… or an orgasm.”

Having shared the stage with the likes of Matisyahu, Of Montreal, Mike Patton, Lyrics Born, RJD2 and Nneka, Pigeon John can woo any crowd, rock and hip-hop alike. He’ll be out there like a road warrior once again this fall, and on through next year.

Experience the greatness live on these select dates…..

“The L.A. hip-hop/funk/pop maestro takes you on a tour of his (rough) life and (smooth) musical influences, making witty jokes and vehement comments about everything from dating to drugs. Older readers may hear the influence of Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band; younger readers… just go buy this, trust me: It’s its own high.” – Entertainment Weekly

“Nebraska-born, LA-bred, racially mixed rapper Pigeon John could gripe about what he’s not (rich, famous, laid). But the comedic, alienated, singsongy MC’s third indie album demands empathy, not pity. Setting proudly assed-out spiels to cheery early De La Soul-style beats and catholic samples (like alt-rockers the Pixies), ” the one and lonely” Pigeon John boasts about dining at Taco Bell and macking on mallrats. He cuts his cutesiness, though, with a world-weary tirade toward Jesus and a sad ballad about his homies growing old. Without tragedy, it’s hard to be a clown.” – VIBE

“Good times hip-hop from college-rock nostalgic” – SPIN

“Pigeon John uses hip-hop to charm and disarm with a classic style and miles of savoir-faire, infusing his black-everyman lyricism with a particular potency and power. Paired with poppy upbeats and whimsical melodies, P.J.’s lighthearted look at harsh realities is akin to fellow L.A. rap iconoclasts the Pharcyde at their freshest.” – LA Weekly

“There’s not just skill and bump in this music, there’s fun in it. Remember when everyone was so shocked at how much they liked Andre 3000 being ridiculous and brilliant at once? He’s got company.” – Music For Robots

“Pigeon John isn’t just one of the freshest voices to emerge in Hip-Hop this millennium, he may also be the realest. The Inglewood native has never fronted about packing heat or slinging rocks despite the rough environment he came up in. In fact, the Quannum MC carving out a niche in Hip-Hop as the Average Joe not afraid to just be himself.” – ALLHIPHOP.com

Pigeon John’s discography:

FORMER DEF JAM EXECUTIVE J.E. JONES RELEASES DEBUT GOSPEL ALBUM FIRE TODAY, JULY 20
J.E. JONES: FIRE Ultimate Entertainment Records; July 20, 2010

Atlanta, GA – Back in the `90s, J.E. Jones was one of Russell Simmons’ key Vice Presidents at Def Jam Records where he was A&R Executive on projects featuring R&B superstars ranging from Mary J. Blige and Montell Jordan to rapper Heavy D. Now, J.E. has stepped from the wings to center stage by releasing his debut solo gospel album entitled Fire, a blend of Hip Hop and R&B flavored gospel beats through his very own label, Ultimate Entertainment Records.

Fire features 11 tracks inspired by J.E.’s personal struggles which touch on a message of hope for a lost generation. The project boasts songs such as “It’s Your Life,” “No More Fighting In Me” and the first radio single “The Turnaround.” Not only is the project a reflection of J.E.’s life, but also an extension of his ministry. It’s important that we reach everyone we can,” he says. “I think you can touch so many more people outside of the pulpit through music. Music travels so far. It’s our job to move beyond the podium and try to reach not just the saved but the unsaved.”

J.E. Jones began his career as an intern at Uptown Records where he was mentored by Uptown founder Andre Harrell and Uptown colleague, Sean “Puffy” Combs. He swiftly moved from the basement to the boardroom as an A&R Vice President, and also made his mark in the broader entertainment world serving as Executive Producer on the Motion Picture soundtracks for The Nutty Professor and Rush Hour. Despite appearing to have it all — cars, a beautiful house and a great career, J.E. felt a huge void. Desperate to fill that emptiness, J.E. accepted his aunt’s invitation to attend church with her. He felt the Lord had been dealing with his heart for some time, and from that day forward he became a Christian. “When I got saved I became serious about ministry,” says J.E. “I kept writing and producing and serving as a music industry consultant, but ministry became my focus.” While gradually transitioning away from his work at Def Jam, J.E. became a minister, training for the role of elder in his church organization, and eventually accepting the call to pastor.

Following that direction, J.E. Jones founded Ultimate Entertainment, a record label that combines his love of music with his passion for the Gospel. It is the goal of the label to reach an unchurched generation with the revelation of a true relationship with the Lord. The debut release from Ultimate Entertainment was a top-selling project from Bishop Eddie Long & Friends, The Kingdom Vol. 1. In addition to marking the label’s first success, the project gave J.E. the opportunity to use his skills as a songwriter/producer by working with some of the biggest names in gospel, including Juanita Bynum and her newest EP “Soul Cry (Oh, Oh, Oh).” J.E. Jones has also worked with Mary Mary, Tye Tribbett, Dorinda Clark Cole and Kierra “Kiki” Sheard. “I believe the people we are called to reach are being introduced to God differently than the last generation,” J.E. says. “This generation doesn’t know anything about church politics. They just want to get to know Jesus.”

Fire is released today, July 20, 2010 on Ultimate Entertainment Records distributed by RED Music.

CO-HEADLINING 2010 BUDWEISER SUPERFEST

“WHY WOULD YOU STAY” NO. 19 ON BILLBOARD’S R&B/HIP-HOP SONGS CHART

Universal Motown Records singer-songwriter-producer KEM has revealed the cover artwork for his third album, Intimacy, to be released on August 17, 2010. The album’s first single is a soulful ballad called “Why Would You Stay,” which was produced by Rex Rideout (Luther Vandross, Angie Stone). Featuring a gorgeous string arrangement by members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra string section that was arranged by the late Motown legend David J. Van dePitte—who famously produced Marvin Gaye’s 1971 masterpiece, What’s Going On—“Why Would You Stay” is currently No. 19 on Billboard’s Hip-Hop/R&B Songs chart and the No. 1 Greatest Gainer on both the BDS and Mediabase Urban AC Published Charts.

As he readies the release of Intimacy, KEM has joined forces with R&B/soul superstars Anthony Hamilton, Jaheim, Raheem DeVaughn, and Universal Motown label-mate Hal Linton for the 2010 Budweiser Superfest. Co-headlined by KEM and Anthony Hamilton, the sensational summer powerhouse tour will kick off on August 5 at the Time Warner Cable Amphitheater at Tower City in Cleveland, Ohio and wraps up on September 5 at the Superpages.com Center in Dallas, Texas. For tickets and more information about the 2010 Budweiser Superfest, please visit www.livenation.com.

A self-taught musician, KEM was born in Nashville and raised in Detroit, the birthplace of Motown Records. Intimacy is KEM’s long awaited follow-up to his critically acclaimed and gold-certified 2005 disc, KEM Album II, which debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart, following the breakout success of his gold-certified 2002 debut album, Kemistry, which spawned a hit single called “Love Calls” that broke records for longevity on the Urban AC chart. Intimacy was inspired by KEM’s deeply personal lessons on intimacy and it will allow fans to experience him unlike ever before musically, lyrically, and visually. For the first time in his career, KEM will lay all of his cards on the table and grant fans the opportunity to get up close and personal while delivering a collection of timeless music for the grown and sexy.
