AXWELL, DAVID GUETTA, FATBOY SLIM, MARK KNIGHT & ROGER SANCHEZ ARE ALL FANS

ABEL RAMOS

Named breakthrough producer of 2009 by a legend as tall as Roger Sanchez, you’d expect big things from rising global star Abel Ramos.

For those unaware of Abel, Axwell signed his debut release ‘Rotterdam With Love’ to the bulging Axtone label, and subsequently turned the head of Sanchez with his crystal clear and punchy production technique. Mark Knight, possibly one of the biggest UK luminaries of underground house, signed two of his tracks ‘Fantastic’ and ‘Sound of The Drums’ to Toolroom knights label and even French-man of the moment, David Guetta asked him to remix two of his latest singles, ‘When Love Takes Over’ and ‘Sexy Bitch’. .

If that wasn’t big enough reason to start paying attention, Norman Cook signed Abel’s remix of Fatboy Slim’s immortal classic ‘Right Here, Right Now’ to Skint after hearing it just once. It has to be said Abels steadily meteoric rise has seen him show the world how far an ear for good sound and a solid DJ repertoire can take you, earning bookings for some of the biggest clubs around the world, and constantly wowing the electronic music elite.

For more recent proof, Abel recently signed a label-deal for his popular imprint ‘With Love Music’ under the cosy, experienced wing of Spinnin’ Record the house giant have also spread held artists including Sidney Samson and Sander van Doorn under their watch.

Abel is also part of the recently formed trio ‘The New Iberican League’ with DJ Chus and David Penn, with their debut track released in December, they will unveil their first live performance at the Amsterdam Dance Event at Escape, 22nd October.

Not content with setting dance floors on fire with his inch-perfect DJ’ing skills and creative productions, Abel also commands the radio waves on a weekly basis, hosting his label program ‘With Love Music’ on Spain’s most popular radio station, LocaFM, aired every Monday from 10-11pm (GMT+1) and can be listened to online via www.locafm.com and iTunes.

With all the above and DJ dates this year at venues from Cielo, NYC to Amnesia, Ibiza and Global Gathering Poland, Abel Ramos has more than shown that he is worth his salt, continuing to turn heads and wow audiences on a regular basis. With Love Music’s second release, ‘Where Is The Love’ feat. Rozalla is out now with remixes released in February 2011.

Ultra Dance 11 is mixed by Madonna’s tour DJ, DJ Enferno. A relative unknown that was making waves with his groundbreaking Live Remix Project as well as taking the top prize in the 2003 DMC Championship. It all changed when he was handpicked to be a part of Madonna’s 2008 – 2009 “Sticky and Sweet World Tour.” It’s no wonder he is amongst the top ten in the DJ Times Magazine “America’s Best DJ Contest 2009.”

While rocking sold-out crowds nightly during the “Sticky and Sweet Tour,” Enferno was also called upon by Madonna to help with musical arrangements and programming. “It still blows my mind,” he says with a laugh. “I used to get a rush when a few hundred people in a club liked my work. Imagine what it’s like to see as many as 75,000 people lose their minds as the biggest star in the world performs the very remix that I helped produce.”

DJ Enferno’s huge success over the last few years has made him the obvious selection for Ultra Dance 11, available now. For DJ Enferno Ultra Dance 11 tour info, click here.

Armin Van Buuren Crowned King of 2008 DJ Mag Poll Ultra Records’ Artists Tiësto, Above & Beyond, David Guetta, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, deadmau5, Sander van Doorn, Paul Oakenfold and Axwell Take Top Honors (Ultra Records)

Armin Van Buuren Crowned King of 2008 DJ Mag Poll Ultra Records’ Artists Tiësto, Above & Beyond, David Guetta, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, deadmau5, Sander van Doorn, Paul Oakenfold and Axwell Take Top Honors (Ultra Records)

Last night, the official and full results of the British DJ Mag Top 100 poll were revealed at the official ‘DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s Party 2008’ in London. Ultra Records’ artist Armin van Buuren has been voted number one DJ for the second year in a row!

Armin van Buuren has been listed in the DJ Mag Top 100 since 2001, when he entered the poll at the 27th position. In 2002 he climbed up to the 5th position, and in 2003, 2004 and 2005 he was listed at the third spot. In 2006 he moved up to the second place, until eventually in 2007 he topped the Poll with a number one position. And this year he did it again.

2007 and 2008 have undoubtedly been 2 of the busiest, yet exciting years for Armin van Buuren. Next to hosting his award winning, weekly radio show ‘A State of Trance’, with an estimated 25 million listeners, Armin has released his third artist album ‘Imagine’ in North America on Ultra Records (Armada). The album made history as the first Dutch dance album to debut at number one on the Dutch album chart. Armin also toured the world with his ‘Armin Only: Imagine’ concerts, with the sold out first edition in the Jaarbeurs venue in Utrecht, providing more than16.000 party people a stunning show and exclusive 9 hour set.

Armin’s reaction: “For me this is an incredible honor, because it’s an award from the votes of so many dance music lovers that went online to vote. I‘d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their support. Thank YOU!“

Ultra Records’ artists maintained a heavy showing in the illustrious UK dance publication’s annual poll. Dutch phenomenon, Tiësto, who maintained the polls number one position 3 years in a row remains at number 2, and stellar trance production and DJ trio Above & Beyond take number 4. David Guetta’s Pop Life success and non-stop touring places the French native at number 5, and Dutch trance maven Ferry Corsten pulls in number 6. Sasha, who released his acclaimed ‘The emFire Collection’ on Ultra earlier this year retains his long standing amongst the Top 10 at number 7. Markus Schulz’ relentless touring pushes him to the number 8 position.

Newcomer to the poll is deadmau5 – riding high on a string of incredible productions and his debut album RANDOM ALBUM TITLE already earning him the award for Producer of the Year from successful digital retailer Beatport – he debuts on the chart at number 11. Sander van Doorn, whose powerful debut album ‘Supernaturalistic’ released on Ultra Records, takes number 13. Paul Oakenfold, who has always maintained high positioning on the poll, claims 14, and house producer, Axwell hits at number 20.

Other Ultra Records’ artists charting this year include Eric Prydz at 21, Fedde Le Grand at 29, Benny Benassi at 39, Roger Sanchez at 57 and Sander Kleinenberg at 60. Congrats to all Ultra Records’ artists for their continued success!
