DMX KICKS OFF “UNDISPUTED: WEIGH IN” TOUR ON JUNE 1ST

PROMO TOUR WILL HIT 30 CITIES IN SUPPORT OF 7TH STUDIO ALBUM ‘UNDISPUTED’ RELEASING THIS FALL

Ruff Ryder legend and world-renowned performer DMX will hit the road this summer to support his upcoming comeback album Undisputed, releasing this fall on Seven Arts/Bloodline Records. The first leg of the tour will kick off June 1st in Cincinnati, OH with additional tour legs to be announced soon. The promo tour will mark X’s return to most markets after several years and the dog is anxious to get back into these regions and in front of his fans.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve had the chance to go out and touch the fans. They’ve consistently supported through the ups and downs,” exclaims DMX. “I’m anxious to get back in front of them and return the favor, keeping the focus on incredible music and memorable live shows.”

“We are excited to get back on the road with the “Undisputed: Weigh In” promo tour this summer,” adds DMX manager Jason Fowler. “With X getting the chance to be in front of his fans day in and day out, this project has been a long time coming and the DOG is definitely back. We’re looking at 30-40 cities across the US on the promo run with a full US tour planned in the fall to coincide with the Undisputed album release.”

The first release from the Undisputed album is the club-ready, adrenaline-fueled “I Don’t Dance,” produced by JR Rotem and featuring Cleveland spit-fire rapper and longtime DMX admirer MGK. “I Don’t Dance” will be serviced to radio in the coming weeks and a music video directed by John Colombo will soon follow. DMX is working closely with longtime friends and collaborators Swizz Beats and Dame Grease on the full-length album.

DMX, a Grammy Awards nominee and American Music Awards winner, recently wrapped VH-1 reality show Couples Therapy. His success with past albums like …And Then There Was X (which featured the top-ten hit single “Party Up” and was certified platinum six times) made him the only musical artist in history to release five consecutive albums (his entire album catalog at the time) that debuted at number one on the Billboard charts.

DMX To Release Gospel Album

DMX recently revealed a more spiritual side of his persona during an interview with MTV, and says he has decided to go in the studio to complete his first-ever gospel-rap album.

According to the rapper, the album will not include the topics you usually hear from him. This one will be “without cursing — how ’bout that one?

“No songs about bitches, no songs about robbing, just straight ‘Give God the glory,'” he continued.

The gospel album is not the only news though. He will be dropping another album as well. In fact, the other album will be a second disc accompanying the gospel album, making it a double album. One disc is a straight hip-hop release, while the other was created with the Lord in mind.

“I [was] the first n—- to put out two albums in one year [‘It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot’ and ‘Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood’ in 1998], now I’m gonna hit ’em again — drop two albums on the same f—in’ day, yo,” X told MTV. “A double album will make motherf—ers mad, because they gotta spend more money — plus it’s already a long [double] album. I’m talking about a hip-hop album and a gospel album.”

The forthcoming album — that he says is titled “Walk With Me Now and You’ll Fly With Me Later” — will be released through indie label Bodog Music, which he recently inked a deal with.

Various Artists – Cradle 2 The Grave OST

DMXby Low Key

Throughout the years we have learned one thing about Hip-Hop and Hollywood; they do not mix. Hip Hop inspired films are rarely depicted accurately and their accompanying soundtracks are just as bad. Continuing on this trend is the new Dmx soundtrack for his new action flop of 2003, “Cradle 2 The Grave”.

DMX – And Then There Was X review

DMXby Hugo Lunny

DMX deserves some credit for working his ass off and actually bothering to put out a lot of material. But it isn’t always good that he puts so much out, as it isn’t always that great. Since the beginning of last year, he’s dropped three LP’s (including this one), and they’ve been alright. Nothing really exceptional, but he’s been improving. Tracks like ‘Slippin’ aren’t amazing, but they do show a deeper side of DMX.

DMX – Grand Champ review

DMXby Low Key

Some artists change for the better and progress through the years while others stay mired in the same repetitive pattern for their entire career. Dmx is an artist that fits into the second category, an artist with all the talent in the world, but one that has never grown or progressed over time. When X dropped his classic debut album “It’s Dark And Hell It Hot”, he proved to the entire industry why he was indeed one of the best up and coming artists in the game. However, from their on out, X has never really changed, and instead of growing with each album he has moved backwards, releasing sub par albums that unfortunately have gotten worse each time. This pattern once again continues on X’s latest and final LP “Grand Champ”, where we get an album full of the same tired old Dmx clichés.

Various Artists – Survival Of The Illest OST review

DMXby Hugo Lunny

It seems that there are three labels, which need recognition regularly. Well three, which come out with the best material; Def Jam, Loud Records and Rawkus. Def Jam now recently released ‘Survival Of The Illest’ from the tour of the same title that occurred earlier this year. The one recorded was from 125 in NYC.

Belly OST review

DMXby Hugo Lunny

Belly. This film sounds dope, all I know though is it stars Nas & DMX with T-Boz and Meth fitting in somewhere along the line plus a not very well known man, I think his name is…. Hype Williams?

Various Artists – Ruff Ryders Vol. 1 review

DMXby J-Ro

The Ruff Ryders crew, DMX, Drag-On, Eve, The Lox, and Ja Rule. May be the best crew in hip hop today! Just playing. These guys are the definition of wack. DMX has been dropping info about this joint and have some of the crew appear on his last album ‘Flesh Of My Flesh, Blood Of My Blood.’ Well they finally got to the studio and produced the compilation. The CD features production mostly by producer extraordinaire Swizz Beats.

Various Artists – Ruff Ryders Vol. 1 review

DMXby Hugo Lunny

When I first heard that this LP was in the works, I was, to say the least, not in the slightest bit bothered about it. However, with that being said, it isn’t completely bad.

Out of the Ruff Ryders camp, there is only one group of emcees that I consistently enjoy listening to. That is of course, The LOX. They all have tons of skill. But other than them, the other emcees which I consider to be part of the actual Ruff Ryders (not affiliates), those being; Drag-On, Eve and DMX really hadn’t impressed me on anything that much. DMX has had his moments, but usually he hasn’t come off as someone that I’m too impressed with.
