“EVERYBODY KNOW” BOYZ N DA HOOD ARE BACK; ATL RAP CREW RETURNS WITH “BACK UP N DA CHEVY”; NEW ALBUM FEATURES SINGLE “EVERYBODY KNOW ME” AND “WE READY (FEAT. YUNG JOC)”; SPECIAL GUESTS INCLUDE ICE CUBE, T-PAIN, RICK ROSS

Block Ent./Bad Boy South recording group Boyz N Da Hood has announced the release of their new album, “BACK UP N DA CHEVY.” The ATL-based rap crew’s eagerly awaited second collection – which features the banging hit single, “Everybody Know Me” – lands in stores and online today.

Handpicked and formed some three years ago by Block Ent. CEO Russell ‘Block’ Spencer, Boyz N Da Hood earned instant stripes for its raw-edged recasting of classic gangsta rap. “I wanted to create something aggressive and hard-hitting,” says Block, “a group that could step up the game for the entire Block Ent. movement.” Fuelled by the hit single, “Dem Boyz,” the group’s self-titled 2005 debut album – certified gold by the RIAA – immediately established Duke, Big Gee, and Jody Breeze as the South’s most dangerous new group (original member Young Jeezy has since left the group and begun his own platinum-certified solo career).

The group’s newest enlistee is the one-and-only Gorilla Zoe, who has made a name for himself in recent months via his featured role on Block Ent./Bad Boy South labelmate Yung Joc’s hit single, “Coffee Shop,” as well as on his own just-released Block Ent./Bad Boy South solo debut, “WELCOME TO THE ZOO” (which features the current smash single, “Hood Figga”).

“Being in this situation is an honor,” Zoe says. “I’m a fan of Boyz N Da Hood. I love the music, and I love the movement of Block Entertainment. I respect the slick talk of Jody Breeze. I respect the gutter of Big Gee, the OG qualities in the play-calling of Duke, and the boss status of Block.”

“Everybody Know Me,” the first single from “BACK UP N DA CHEVY,” is currently blowing up at Urban radio outlets nationwide. The single was featured on the iTunes homepage upon its release earlier this year. In addition, the down-and-dirty album track, “Bite Down,” is shaping up as one of the year’s biggest street anthems.

“BACK UP N DA CHEVY” sees Boyz N Da Hood taking its cinematic street tales of guns, girls, and gangbanging to a whole new hardcore stratum. In addition to the aforementioned Yung Joc, the album is marked by guest appearances from a number of high-profile hip-hop luminaries, including T-Pain, Rick Ross, and the legendary Ice Cube. Among its producers are such top studio stars as Dee Jay Dana (Yung Joc, Gorilla Zoe) and Drumma Boy (Young Jeezy, Juvenile, Paul Wall).

BLOCK ENT. GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY; “WELCOME TO THE ZOO” BLOCK PARTY SET FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON IN ATLANTA

Block Ent., based in Atlanta and home to some of today’s hottest hip-hop stars including Gorilla Zoe, Yung Joc and Boyz N Da Hood, and also responsible for introducing the world to Young Jeezy, Ciara, and Rock Ross, will join Greg Street and V103 FM to host a very special block party tomorrow, Friday, September 28 at the Athlete’s Foot store (564 Lee Street) in Atlanta. The “Welcome To The Zoo” block party will take place tomorrow from 3PM to 6PM, where barbers will be on-site offering free haircuts to the first 103 people in line. Grill Kings will also provide free meals.

In addition, Block Ent./Bad Boy South recording artist Gorilla Zoe will hold an autograph signing at Athlete’s Foot. The celebration comes as Gorilla Zoe released his debut album, “WELCOME TO THE ZOO,” earlier this week. Joining Gorilla Zoe at the event will be label mates Yung Joc, Boyz N Da Hood, and Block Ent. founder, Russell “Block” Spencer.

“As part of the Atlanta community, we like to give back as much as possible,” said Spencer. “I couldn’t think of a better time than now to have an event like this, celebrating the community and our artists all at once.

“WELCOME TO THE ZOO” UNLEASHED ON SEPTEMBER 25TH

Block Entertainment/Bad Boy South recording artist Gorilla Zoe has announced details of his upcoming new album, “WELCOME TO THE ZOO.” The ATL-based rapper’s eagerly awaited debut collection – which features the banging hit single, “Hood Figga” – lands in stores and online on September 25th.

Zoe is quickly marking himself as one of the hottest, most original new voices in hip-hop, via his featured role on Block Entertainment/Bad Boy South labelmate Yung Joc’s current hit single, “Coffee Shop,” as well as by his recent membership in superstar rap combo Boyz N Da Hood (whose highly anticipated second album, “BACK UP N DA CHEVY,” drops on October 2nd). He is also featured on “Bottle Poppin’,” the latest single from Yung Joc’s top-charting second album, “HUSTLENOMICS,” which has just arrived at multi-format radio outlets across the country.

“I’ve been in the game for a while,” says CEO of Block Entertainment, Russell “Block” Spencer. “I knew Zoe had the talent and ability to bring the Block Entertainment Movement to the next level.”

“WELCOME TO THE ZOO” confirms Zoe’s status as a major artist in his own right, chronicling the rapper’s life experiences in Atlanta’s concrete jungle. The album sees Zoe joined by such major-league special guests as Yung Joc, Block, D. Woods of Danity Kane, and his fellow Boyz N Da Hood (Duke, Big Gee, and Jody Breeze), with production from a incredible line-up of studio superstars, including Sha Money XL (50 Cent, Slim Thug, Paul Wall), Chris Flame (Yung Joc), Dee Jay Dana (Boyz N Da Hood, Yung Joc), and Drumma Boy (Juvenile, Young Jeezy, Paul Wall).

“One of my favorite albums is Dr. Dre’s ‘THE CHRONIC,'” says Zoe. “That’s the kind of album I wanted to create. Something that can stand the test of time.”

A true hip-hop anthem, “Hood Figga” is rapidly rising up the charts in multiple formats. The track is now #14 with-a-bullet at Urban radio outlets nationwide, while scoring top 30 play at Rhythmic. “Hood Figga” is also shaping up as a blockbuster ringtone, climbing to #13 on Billboard’s latest “Hot RingMasters” ranking.

The song’s companion video is currently blowing up at BET, where it is now in “Heavy” rotation on BET’s Rap City. A special installment of Rap City focusing on the extraordinary Block Entertainment roster – which includes Zoe, Yung Joc, and Boyz N Da Hood – is stated to air on September 22nd (check local listings).

Gorilla Zoe and “Hood Figga” are also exploding across the MTV spectrum. “WELCOME TO THE ZOO” is currently streaming in its entirety – for one week only, through next week’s official release date – as part of MTV.com’s “The Leak” (located at www.mtv.com/music/the_leak). Meanwhile, the “Hood Figga” video is a current rotation favorite at MTV2, where it received an “Unleashed” all-day premiere earlier this summer. In addition, “Hood Figga” can be seen in “Sizzlin” rotation at MTV Jams, with additional cable airplay on Music Choice.

Zoe spent much of his summer paving the way for “WELCOME TO THE ZOO” by joining Yung Joc on stage for a number of dates on BET and Scream Star Entertainment’s “Screamfest ’07.” The ATL-based rapper also teamed with Joc for a series of high-profile TV appearances, including visits to ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, and MTV’s Making The Band 4.
