February 5, 2008 (New York, NY) – Five-time Grammy Award winner Missy Elliott is giving fans the opportunity to name her new album, due out on Goldmind/Atlantic late Spring 2008. Fans can enter immediately via Missy’s website, www.missy-elliott.com. The contest closes on February 20th and the winner will be announced on March 2nd. The winner will receive credit on Missy’s new album and a $500 “Respect Me” adidas gift card.

Fans have already gotten a sneak peek of what Elliott has been up to with “Ching-A-Ling,” a new song which, along with Elliott’s “Shake Your Pom Pom,” will appear on both the “STEP UP 2 THE STREETS – ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK” (due out today, February 5th) as well as on Elliott’s forthcoming 7th studio album (due out Spring 2008). “STEP UP 2 THE STREETS – ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK” is the musical companion to the upcoming Touchstone Pictures dance film of the same name. The film is slated for a 5 day – Valentine’s to President’s Day – opening weekend beginning in theatres nationwide on Thursday, February 14th.

The radio response to “Ching-A-Ling” has been instantaneous and reactionary, and the song, which just received a 4-star review in Rolling Stone magazine, has garnered over 15 million in audience after just a few short weeks of airplay.

In addition, Elliot has teamed up with longtime visual collaborator Dave Meyers and the Walt Disney Company’s Touchstone Pictures to make history by creating the first ever 3D music video for “Ching-A-Ling.”

Missy made live appearances on both MTV’s TRL and BET’s 106th & Park yesterday to premiere the video. The glasses needed to view the 3D effects are available via FYE stores nationwide, at select adidas stores, and via radio giveaways in various cities hosting STEP UP 2 movie screenings. Missy Elliott and Dave Meyers create history with 1st ever 3D music video for Ching-A-Ling to appear on Atlantic Records Step Up 2 The Streets soundtrack out February 5th

MISSY ELLIOTT AND DAVE MEYERS CREATE HISTORY WITH 1ST EVER 3D MUSIC VIDEO FOR “CHING-A-LING” “CHING-A-LING” TO APPEAR ON ATLANTIC RECORDS’ “STEP UP 2 THE STREETS” SOUNDTRACK OUT FEBRUARY 5 AND ON ELLIOTT’S NEW ALBUM DUE OUT THIS SPRING “CHING-A-LING” VIDEO PREMIERES ON MTV AND BET MONDAY FEBRUARY 4; 3D GLASSES AVAILABLE AT FYE AND ADIDAS STORES

Five-time Grammy Award winner Missy Elliott has teamed up with longtime visual collaborator Dave Meyers to take the game beyond the next level and into a whole new dimension by creating the first ever 3D music video. The video is for “Ching-A-Ling,” a new song which, along with Elliott’s “Shake Your Pom Pom,” will appear on both the “STEP UP 2 THE STREETS – ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK” (due out February 5th) as well as on Elliott’s forthcoming 7th studio album (due out Spring 2008). “STEP UP 2 THE STREETS – ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK” is the musical companion to the upcoming Touchstone Pictures dance film of the same name. The film is slated to open in theatres nationwide on February 14th.

“This is truly historic,” says director Dave Meyers. “People have talked about and tried to make it happen before, but no one has ever set out to purposefully create a 3D music video and then actually made it happen. Once again, Missy and I are happily and comfortably in uncharted territory!”

In addition to its groundbreaking 3D effects, “East meets East” as the dancers from the “Ching-A-Ling” video, dressed in colorful Harajuku street style, combine a hint of Indian influenced Bollywood-style movement with the logic-defying time-and-space warping stop motion dance style of the Woomin Crew from Japan. “You’ve gotta see these kids with your own eyes to believe it,” says Elliott, who discovered Woomin while surfing the internet. “My inspiration comes from all over the world and this video really showcases that.”

MTV will premiere the 3D version of the “Ching-A-Ling” video on Monday, February 4th live on MTV “TRL” at 3:30PM. BET will premiere a 2D version on 2/4 @ 6:30PM on “106th & Park,” and the 3D version later that evening on the channel. In addition, MTV.com will be airing both 3D & 2D versions of the video all day on 2/4. The glasses needed to view the 3D effects will be available via FYE stores nationwide, at select adidas stores, and via radio giveaways in various cities hosting STEP UP 2 movie screenings. For more 3D glasses distribution locations, please visit www.missy-elliott.com or www.myspace.com/missyelliott.

Step Up 2 The Streets is the follow-up to the smash hit Step Up, which ignited theaters in August 2006. When rebellious street dancer Andie (Briana Evigan) lands at the elite Maryland School of the Arts, she finds herself fighting to fit in while also trying to hold onto her old life. When she joins forces with the school’s hottest dancer Chase (Robert Hoffman) to form a crew of classmate outcasts to compete in Baltimore’s underground dance battle, The Streets, she ultimately finds a way to live her dream while building a bridge between her two separate worlds.

This coming-of-age dance film stars newcomers Briana Evigan, Robert Hoffman (You Got Served, She’s the Man), Telisha Shaw, Adam G. Sevani and Bad Boy recording artist Cassie, whose “Is It You” is featured in the film and on the soundtrack.

Featuring the directorial debut of award-winning up-and-comer Jon Chu, Step Up 2 The Streets reunites much of the production team behind the original film, including Step Up’s cutting-edge hip-hop choreographer Jamal Sims, who is joined this time by choreographers Hi-Hat (acclaimed as “hip-hop’s high diva of dance”) and Dave Scott (Stomp the Yard). Patrick Wachsberger & Erik Feig of Summit Entertainment produce with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot of Offspring Entertainment.
