OSHEAGA 2011 DATES ANNOUNCED!
We are thrilled to announce that Canada’s premier music and arts festival is returning in 2011 and will take place from July 27th to 31st.
These five days will again include OSHEAGA In The City, a series of special events in venues throughout Montreal, and OSHEAGA In The Park, the festival’s marquee event in beautiful Parc Jean-Drapeau.
More information about OSHEAGA’s sixth edition will be made available in the coming weeks and months.
A GREENER FESTIVAL AWARD
We are also delighted to announce that Osheaga has won the highest commendation for its greening initiatives at this year’s festival, earning an “Outstanding Award” from international authority A Greener Festival UK.
The award is based on a seven-part questionnaire which covers event management, travel and transport plans, CO2 emissions, fair trade, waste management and recycling, water management and noise pollution.
A major component of OSHEAGA’s success was the fruit of a new partnership with Infinite Island Power to provide a renewable energy system for the Sennheiser Green Stage – combining highly efficient technology with eco-friendly energy sources. This innovative stage was part of a greater campaign which also involved coordinated recycling and public transit plans.
OSHEAGA is the only major music festival in North America to receive this award in 2010, finishing ahead of several premier US and international events.
