Tiger Bones Debut EP, Go Over Here, Out Today!

Tiger Bones are psyched to announce the release of their debut EP, Go Over Here, out today on Dedd Foxx. Produced by Ponys’ front-man Jered Gummere, the EP is a stealthy blend of hazy surf-wave and weighted discord that offers four tracks of deceptively disorganized happenstance layered with methodical, dance-jerk rhythm. Go Over Here is being offered as a free digital download via Chicago-based digi-label Candy Dinner and limited-edition 12” vinyl is available for purchase through Insound. The physical release includes a 5th bonus track that cleverly layers Joy Division’s “Transmission” with Harry Nilsson’s “Jump Into The Fire”.

To usher in the release, Tiger Bones are sharing “Eyeliner”, the opening track from Go Over Here. Gargled and bass-heavy, “Eyeliner” builds with gangly, galloping cadence, sharp, questioning guitar licks, and vocals that seem to echo from a time-warp tunnel.

Don’t miss Tiger Bones at SXSW, where they’ll be playing several showcases and parties (details below) all while testing the human limits of taco-consumption. Tiger Bones will also be playing The Hideout’s SXSW Sendoff Show in Chicago and drummer Mike Renaud and bassist Jonathan Burden will close out the all-day event with a Wooden-Leg-fueled DJ set.

“…to my knowledge no one has ever called the postpunk sound delimited by the Wire and the Cure ‘sunny,’ Tiger Bones manage to bring a garagey surf vibe to that cold, brooding atmosphere….And they underline the point with the EP’s last song, ‘Transmission (Nilsson Edit),’ a fairly brilliant mashup of Joy Division and Harry Nilsson that transcends its jokiness with unsettling perfection. —Monica Kendrick, The Chicago Reader

“…a smokey and well-simmered melting together of tribal percussion and hazy surf-waves. There’s a lot of complexity driving the vibe and experimentation pays off for listeners.” – Kevin Barre, Citizen Dick

“…the Randy Quaid of Chicago music.” – David Wicik, New City
